I think Meyer will be very successful in the NFL.
At Ohio State he delegated decisions and personnel decisions to his position coaches. He trusts his assistants way more than Saban does.
He took 2 years off to research the pro game and ask coaches how to coach at this level.
He is a better communicator and motivator than Saban.
Time will tell. Saban and Spurrier did not make the switch. Pete Caroll did.

Saban quit on coaching the Dolphins. I hate how he lied with one foot on the plane for Alabama.

We can crap on the guy all day long but I do believe Saban that the sorry *** QB situation with Culpepper was the reason he bailed. Reports were that Brees to Miami was a done deal. No one anticipated Brees turning into the all time passing leader and Culpepper’s knee obviously did not heal right. I‘m sure most of us were pissed by that season’s end too.

All he’s done since is turn Alabama into THE national FBS powerhouse, won multiple national champions, become the farm system for cranking out well coached players for the NFL draft, and is arguably the greatest college coach ever.

Let’s be sensible, the dude can coach and can build winning programs. He just didn’t care to build it in the NFL that players could physically threaten him because he got their panties in a bunch or get overruled by his medical team.

… and still living rent free in many heads around here.

Move on.

We appear to have a good coach again. (Aw, **** … I went & said it out loud)

It’s time to put the past away. You don’t have to be mad anymore. We’re going to be good again.

I’ve even moved past the pornographic facial hair who shall not be named hate-festival.

It’s ok.

We are going to be a competitive franchise again. It’s been so long. Hell, for some here … they don’t know what that feels like. Just remember, it’s ok to let go of the dark side.

We used to be good every year.

We’re headed back to that.

Enjoy it.

Saban is REALLY good at recruiting... it's his prime skill. Being a liar helps in that regard.

I just posted a week or so ago there are still posters 15 years later that are still butt hurt about Ricky retiring and Saban leaving for Alabama.

Lo and behold…

Wouldn’t you try to blame someone else, if you where the guy to pass on two of the top ten QB’s of all time. Not in ten to twenty years, but in back to back years.

Satan is a POS. He didn’t do what it took and handled it poorly then lied and ran away with his tail between his legs. Now it’s that one thing he knows he failed at. Brees tells a far different story about detesting him to the point he wanted the Saints more. Brees unlike Napoleon has zero reason to lie.

LOL...you guys are funny
Fact: Saban has always lied when leaving a job and Miami was no different. Regarding brees, maybe saban deferred to the doctors but he was the dictator here so who knows .
