Official 76ers Thread

I think whoever the sixers hire as a coach better be able to get the best out of Turner. I would love to see Evan start at the 1 this year. I really do think Collins held him back. I also think Noel should sit the entire season. Makes sense. We need to be in the top 3 next yr.

Every excuse ever made to blame for Turner's inconsistency is now gone. Time to put up or shut up. I wouldn't be surprised to see him put up big numbers since nobody else is around to take shots away anymore. Hopefully those numbers will be enough to swindle somebody in a trade.

My thinking, and hopefully the front office's as well, should be to let Turner build some nice stats because he'll probably be the one to put them up on this terrible team, and move him at the deadline for some good value. To me, Turner is a good player who doesn't specialize in one thing and would be better in a sixth man kind of role.

You have to wonder if at the time they had the #2 pick that they went with a big man in that spot, whether it was Cousins or Favors, what they would have done after that.
 
Can u guys please explain the 1dt rd pick the sixers got from new Orleans next year. Im confused- it says sixers gets Orleans 1st rd pick in '14 but then says it is protected by picks 1-5---what does that mean?

If the Pelicans get pick 1-5, they keep the first round pick. If it is 6 and lower, the Sixers get the pick.
 
So we have our head coach finally. Brett Brown was hired today. Man this took forever. What do u guys think?

I think anyone on the Spurs staff is a good coach. And if they took this long to find the coach, I would think he's the coach they want to build with.

Good hire for the 76ers. This year unfortunately is just going to be a throw away year, waiting for Noel to get healthy. However, next year with a good shot at Wiggins and a second lottery pick the 76ers will probably have one of the best young cores in the game.

That's the idea. Be very bad for a few years to accumulate talent, and then have a nice young up and coming team.

Well at least we didn't rehire old Larry Brown to be our coach. This Brown seems to be an innovative guy and well respected. I love that Lebron James had Dr. J with MJ and Larry Bird on his top three greatest players ever. I started watching Doc in 1975....he won the first dunk contest at McNichols Arena up the road in Denver. I was 9 years old and it was the greatest thing I ever saw. Doc averaged almist 30 points and 12 to 15 rebounds a game in the ABA and had three straight MVP's. He was Jordan before Jordan. Looking forward to the Sixer's future.
