I also think that is a telling coincidence that the two most financially destroyed teams in the NFL are the last two teams desperately waving three years' worth of top draft picks at Houston in a sad attempt to remain relevant.
The Falcons are about to take a 50M dead cap hit on their aging QB when they could have drafted a young QB last year. But they had to take a TE... hoo boy! Sadly, they don't have much on that roster and if they swing this deal, they won't have any draft picks either.
The Saints are an absolute disaster, 29M in dead cap already this year, plus they have restructured 11 of their 12 highest paid players, pushing tens of millions of dollars into 2023 and beyond. They are desperate for young players, and they just are not coming. They've signed exactly ONE FA this year... one. Meanwhile... we're up to about 15 or so?
Yup... Watson might get them into the playoffs, but this isn't a contending team, and their future looks even more bleak. Houston sure is going to enjoy spending all those draft picks.
