Philbin was right to run out the clock at the end of the half.....

I wish Philbin would use some of this magic potion that automatically makes everything sunshine and goodness during halftime before the game, so we wouldn't always have to talk about re-grouping at halftime.
At halftime everyone regroups and makes adjustments... It's kinda why it's there... As for the magic potions, never heard of that

Here is the short answer. Do you want a coach who says to before halftime, lets play safe so Buffalo does not get the ball again, or do you want a coach who says lets go score some points.

Keep in mind that we faced the same Buffalo team last year. Nobody learned anything from that? AND we have more weapons this year right?

Tannehill is a 3rd year qb. If he cant drive down and get a score, THEN WHEN WILL HE???

I guess the goal of every gameplan should be to survive until halftime. My point was that it would be nice to play well enough in the first half so that we didn't need to re-group at halftime. I guess that was lost on you.

That would be nice, but it's not football... So maybe ur point was lost on me

How do you keep defending mediocrity? How do you do it?

Get a ****ing thesaurus already.

Actually, here, I'll do it for you:

Synonyms for mediocre
adj average, commonplace

decent
dull
inferior
middling
ordinary
second-rate
so-so
undistinguished
uninspired
common
fair
humdrum
pedestrian
tolerable
unexceptional
passable

They probably don't have thesauruses where he's from...

To me, it was a very obvious decision. You're getting destroyed - absolutely clobbered - out there, and you're only down 9 points. You came back from 10 against a better team last week (at home, noted). Get the team into the locker room and start fresh. Given the erratic passes and consistent pressure, I feel a negative outcome was far more likely than a positive outcome - and the consequences of a negative outcome more severe than the benefits of a positive outcome.

Wait, playing well enough in the first half so that you don't have to re-group "is not football"?

Since when?

The truth hurts you guys.

We've got a coach and a QB that aren't up to the challenge and I'm sorry you can't realize it.

Awwwwwwwww. You're sorry. That's nice.

Well, thank the good Lord that you're here to be the voice of reality that...well...NOBODY needs.

"Gosh golly, mister! Without your infinite wisdom, most of us would have been so blinded with optimism that we would have thought we WON the Buffalo game."

Seriously; get over yourself. You are NOT the voice of wisdom or reality to counter those who would still have hope for this team for the rest of this season.

Neither you, nor Mr. Get Real (who I'm starting to suspect might actually be Omar Kelly), are coming off as anything more than self-serving "I'm right, you're wrong" know-it-alls.

We, as a general fan base, are aware that there are many shortcomings with this team. We'd like to discuss them without the blowhard factor.

Because I'll give you a little hint: You don't know all the answers either. No...no, you don't.

It's times like these that I like to play a little clip for the "smarter than you's."

Enjoy.

A losing mentality from a mediocre head coach.

THIS!!!
You HAVE to do something that inspires confidence in your team. You take a time out, rally the team, show some damn confidence and emotion and let the best team win....you DO NOT show a lack of confidence and tuck your tail and "regroup"....don't grt me wrong I understand the point of view from the op but disagree with the approach 100%...win lose or draw ....GO FOR THE THROAT

With 1 minute and 30 seconds to go, their DBs would have played it safe and played off our WRs. We would have been able to easily get 10-15 yards per throw and at least get in field goal range. Any other team tries to get points there. My opinion is this - if you don't trust your QB to do a 2 minute drill, then he shouldn't be your QB. Plain and simple. I understand our offense had done nothing up to that point, but there is no way the Bills are playing aggressive there. Bad call by Philbin. Really shows the team that there is no confidence in Tannehill.

Absolutely agree...it sent a message to their entire team and coaching staff that we had no confidence and re-energized their defense.....

Miami had a second down play with 19 seconds left on the 29 yard line and a third down play on the 35 with 13 seconds left. You throw an incomplete pass there and you're looking at punting, when you already gave up a blocked punt.

Lame

Here are Miami's drives leading up to the half:

4 plays, 4 yards, PUNT
5 plays, 14 yards, BLOCKED PUNT
4 plays, -8 yards, PUNT
4 plays, 10 yards, PUNT
3 plays, 3 yards, PUNT

Now after seeing your offense in 5 pathetic drives, I'm taking my team to the locker room to get their heads on straight.

And you, my friend, would be perceived as weak and void of leadership

After looking at the plays in the Packers loss to the Giants in 2011 playoffs I think Philbin didn't want to make the same mistake he did in that game.
AT his own 20 with 1:51 to go in half he let Rodgers throw it 5 times and they were forced to punt. Giants got the ball back and scored on last play of half and went on to win game

So his last playoff appearance he was burned by going for points at the end of half. So I understand running it at the 12. I even understand running it after we picked up a 1st down.
But once your gained 29 yards to 41 (best drive of 1st half) you don't give up with 8 seconds left and 3 timeouts

Only by ignorant people, and to be honest, I don't give a **** about ignorant people. I'd rather be smart than reckless. And leadership is knowing when to do that, even if its the unpopular decision.

Sorry if I struck a nerve lol...My disagreement with you on a perceived description of lack of leadership though is hardly a reason to imply I am ignorant...the thumbs down? ok then
