Rank Tannehill Among Young QB's?

he sure did but most of those guys were gone w/in a few years and he took teams that had no business being in the playoffs to the playoffs later in his career.

We are not discussing later years...we are discussing the first two years of Tannehill, Wilson and Marino.

What Marino did later is irrelevent to this debate.

his first 2 years he turned Clayton and Duper into superstars and made your O a million times better than it was.

are we really comparing Ryan to Dan and Wilson?

Blaming either of those losses squarely on Tannehill is myopic. But, then, you are looking through green-colored glasses.

In most cases myopic, but I have a feeling in Junc's case, he is trying very hard to convince himself that Tannehill can't be a quality QB, almost as hard, as he tried to convince himself Sanchez was.

Actually Junc has commented many times on Tannehill's potential as has been mostly positive. But after the grief everybody gave him for Sanchez you can bet he will let us know if Ryan Tannehill fails miserably like he did in the final 2 games last year. We should hope this is the end of it.

But, Karma can be a bitch.

That is exactly my point, deep down, he knows that Tannehill has more potential then Sanchez ever had, so he is trying very hard to convince himself Tannehill is inferior to Sanchez at any time.

Quit trolling....the discussion was the first two years...

stop deflecting.

Actually I have stated a million times I think he has the ability to be a good QB, my argument has always been what he did last year. Many of you guys seem to think he was good b/c he put up decent #s, I don't just look at #s.

I will enjoy if he flops but I will not rub it in.

but thank you for remembering I have said nice things about him. When folks see anything critical they think you are just bashing when that's not the case.

Don't confuse the ability to be a good QB w/ me thinking he's got more potential than mark(who is having an excellent camp so far by the way). 2 very different arguments.

Absolutely ridiculous for anyone to ignore the quality of the supporting cast when evaluating a QBs success....One who argues advertises their lack of knowledge of this team sport.

Even worse is when someone ignores the supporting cast of some QBs but not other QBs.

I can't understand how Dolphins fans can reconcile the actions of the team with the claim that people are making excuses for Tannehill. The concern in 2012 was the lack of WR talent. The Team went out and signed Wallace and Gibson, then followed up this year with Landry. Last season fans complained about the OL, running game, and the play calling. The team replaced 4 of 5 starters on the OL plus added depth, replaced the OL coach, replaced the OC, and added a new RB.

I have not read one post by the Tannehaters claiming that the moves in the two off seasons were unwarranted. Either they agree the moves were necessary or they are okay with the team making needless changes to placate the "excuse" makers. You can't have it both ways. You can't make the claim that the OL was okay and advocate wholesale changes. Where are the angry posts about Sherman getting fired? Unbelievable hypocrisy.

Like that all-pro offensive line?

Go play in traffic troll...

the OL that was as good as Seattle's, one that wasn't half as bad as you excuse makers make them out to be. One that was actually pretty good the 2nd half of the year.

It's funny how no one was talking about the Ol issues late in the year until they choked those last 2 weeks.

Click the link for a thread I posted congratulating you for beating Miami. it's funny how no one was using the OL excuse at that moment in time.

Well FWIW in those last 2 games the OL was abysmal vs Buffalo. I thought it was their worst game if the year. However that Jets game was the only one in 2013 where we didn't give up a sack and the offense **** the bed anyway.

Just stop dude...I can see the froth from here...it's getting pathetic.

Why is this troll tolerated on this site.......?

Every sane...unbiased observer recognizes the handicaps Ryan Tannehill dealt with in 2012 and 2013....Even the Tannehill supporters acknowledge he needs to reach another level...however....we fairly give him the benefit of the doubt as he is progressing through handicaps...neither Russell Wilson nor even Dan Marino had to deal with.......

I'm sure that even Tannehill haters would like fairness to be in effect in their professional careers.

Truthfully in both his seasons the Phins had the 7th scoring defense in the League, ranked 3rd in the AFC. Sadly Tannehill's unit finished 26th and 27th in scoring offense. Wilson behind a shoddy OLine led the 8th scoring offense in the League while throwing to a bunch of 2s and 3s and a blocking TE.

Tannehill's the QB, the most important guy on the field, so the majority of that poor production falls on his shoulders. Add to this the fact that, bottom line, our W/L needle has barely moved since he got here.

I don't think even 2% of non-Dolphins fans would take Tannehill over Wilson.
