Truthfully in both his seasons the Phins had the 7th scoring defense in the League, ranked 3rd in the AFC. Sadly Tannehill's unit finished 26th and 27th in scoring offense. Wilson behind a shoddy OLine led the 8th scoring offense in the League while throwing to a bunch of 2s and 3s and a blocking TE.
Tannehill's the QB, the most important guy on the field, so the majority of that poor production falls on his shoulders. Add to this the fact that, bottom line, our W/L needle has barely moved since he got here.
I don't think even 2% of non-Dolphins fans would take Tannehill over Wilson.
Wilson's OL was much better than Tannehill's. The running game was way, way better. The difference between the two offenses was primarily the running game. In fact, special teams and defensive TDs accounted for more of the point differential than passing TDs did. Rushing TDs accounted for a much larger portion of the scoring differential too. The most similar part of the two offenses was TD passes.
