Rank Tannehill Among Young QB's?

Truthfully in both his seasons the Phins had the 7th scoring defense in the League, ranked 3rd in the AFC. Sadly Tannehill's unit finished 26th and 27th in scoring offense. Wilson behind a shoddy OLine led the 8th scoring offense in the League while throwing to a bunch of 2s and 3s and a blocking TE.

Tannehill's the QB, the most important guy on the field, so the majority of that poor production falls on his shoulders. Add to this the fact that, bottom line, our W/L needle has barely moved since he got here.

I don't think even 2% of non-Dolphins fans would take Tannehill over Wilson.

Wilson's OL was much better than Tannehill's. The running game was way, way better. The difference between the two offenses was primarily the running game. In fact, special teams and defensive TDs accounted for more of the point differential than passing TDs did. Rushing TDs accounted for a much larger portion of the scoring differential too. The most similar part of the two offenses was TD passes.

Only the morons would fail to recognize that Wilson had a top ranked defense, one that could stop the run and one that was amazing against the pass....a team that could effectively run the ball and effectively pass protect............

All things the Miami Dolphins could not do well in 2013.

This thread has gone past ridiculous....this is a team game ultimately...yes the QB Is the single most important position in the game....but he cannot win it all without a team around him.

Dan Marino, Fran Tarkenton, Dan Fouts, Jim Kelly are just a few of the great quarterbacks who don't have rings who prove it.....

Jeff Hoffstetler, Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson and many others prove that less than greatness at quarterback can win it all if the rest of the team is good enough.

The 2013 Dolphins were a flawed football team in many ways...this is not debatable and no QB in NFL history could have raised this team above what it was....mediocrity.

A better QB might have done just enough to let this flawed team slip into the wildcard round in a weak AFC....but that's about it.

It would be an early exit no matter who is behind center.

Every sane...unbiased observer recognizes the handicaps Ryan Tannehill dealt with in 2012 and 2013....Even the Tannehill supporters acknowledge he needs to reach another level...however....we fairly give him the benefit of the doubt as he is progressing through handicaps...neither Russell Wilson nor even Dan Marino had to deal with.......

I'm sure that even Tannehill haters would like fairness to be in effect in their professional careers.

I give him a pass for his rookie year, he played well at times and struggled at times like most rookies but last year they brought in a ton of new talent and he had a chance to get Miami to postseason and failed.

Actually they were quite similar, the difference being Seattle wasn't foolish enough to throw the ball as much as Miami did.

Seattle's Ol was not good most of the year, they got healthy for postseason but Wilson was sacked at a higher rate than Tannehill.

If we had a defense like Seahawks, I am sure the team would have had a better record. Put Tannehill in their offense, they won't miss a bit either.

Seattle's D was better w/o a doubt but your D was good and the main reason you were even in the race. If Miami's O was as good as Seattle's it would have taken pressure off the Miami D too.


Put Tannehill in Seattle and they may make the playoffs but they aren't getting close to a SB, put Wilson in Miami and Miami easily makes the playoffs last year.

Nope but anyone who watched Seattle's OL last year knows how mediocre they were JUST LIKE Miami.

It's interesting though that when it comes to Ryan's sacks they were ALL the fault of the worst OL in history but w/ Seattle you now want context. I wonder why that is?

all you have to do is actually read my posts to know the truth. I get your point of view, you like Ryan and are defending him. all the problems were not on Ryan but you do pretend like he had awful talent around him and it was the fault of everyone else and that's just not true.

why should I do that when you don't do that? All I know is Seattle's Ol struggled through much of the reg season, they were better in postseason b/c of good health. They were every bit as mediocre/bad as Miami's but a)Seattle didn't abandon the run game and b)Seattle had a QB that could extend plays and make something out of nothing.
