Rank Tannehill Among Young QB's?

Pathetic...as usual...be gone troll. Have you NOT figured out yet that nobody cares what you think? Nobody comes here thinking, "oh...lemme see what the wizard has to say about quarterbacks today"? That no Dolphins fan's impression of Tannehill will be changed by your arguments, good or bad? Why would you even be here? Jets board that lame? Do you get some kind of jollies off starting/continuing arguments about somebody else's team? Yet, you expect that other team's "fans" to lick your boots?

Oh...here comes the requisite, "I can't help it you think Tannehill is your franchise QB" BS...sing it somewhere else...you don't matter.

Completely pathetic.

I guarantee you many more people care what I think rather than what you think.

Instead of wasting your time posting childish attacks why don't you actually contribute to a thread?

You wouldn't understand a contribution if you saw it...you'd just switch to some other angle of a different argument and try to make it apply, like you always do....like I said, pathetic.

Don't bother. When asked to have an honest fact-based discussion, he passes. He's got nothing to offer. I tried.

Posters like you crack me up b/c you don't actually read my posts, you see a Jet fan not slobbering all over Miami and you assume I am being unfair and just bashing Miami b/c I don't like them. Try reading my posts and remove the homer glasses when doing so, I am always fair. I praise when they deserve it, I bash when they deserve it but I am always fair.

That's the problem...what you think is deserved means squat.

I've argued with junc and the Tannehaters on this site as much as anyone and even I'm surprised at the unwillingness to debate facts.

Do you want to put up or shut up? Care to analyze the OL play? Try to cover the following:

1. Are all sacks created equal?
2. What are the primary causes of sacks?
3. Is there any way to determine the types of sacks that occurred?
4. How did Miami and Seattle compare in the types of sacks that were allowed?

What are you trying to prove here?

Not every poor read, interception, or fumble that came from Tannehill last season was a result of poor offensive line play. If you truly believe that is the case, then you aren't objective as fan at all.

Look, Tannehill was decent last year, but certainly not spectacular. And he wet the bed at home against the Jets, with an opportunity to make the playoffs. That's just the facts. Deny them if you will. There was no poor protection during the Jets game. Just poor quarterback play. He had a clean pocket the majority of the game, and the offense was only able to muster up 7 points with him at quarterback. That's not good. Not good in the least bit. Certainly not what I'd like to see from my quarterback with everything on the line.

And yeah, it's put or shut up for Tannehill. Why? Because if we go 7-9/8-8 again, the house is going to be cleaned. And the new regime is likely going to find their own quarterback. And if you or anyone else don't think that's not going to happen should the Dolphins fail to get over the hump this year again, you are all kidding yourselves. Ross' patience has run very thin.

Now I certainly HOPEFUL Tannehill makes the leap, but I'm skeptical.

Some of you need to understand, this isn't about being a Tannehill supporter or detractor. This is about being a REALIST Dolphin fan. Make no mistake, I want Tannehill to be GREAT. But I'm not going to blindly anoint the guy. He's got to show it. And so far, he's shown that he's decent. I do see some upside, and I'm hopeful Bill Lazor and the new offense can help trigger some of that upside. But again, until I see the consistency, I'm going to remain skeptical.

this is a discussion board, we share OPINIONS. You don't have to agree w/ me but in order to make the board better you should try to debate rather than just whine about me.

Dude...what don't you get...I couldn't care less about what you think...nor does debating with you bring any value whatsoever to me as a Dolphins fan. High horse much?

So no to simply having a fact-based debate? Throw out a straw man instead? Here is my shocked face - :jawdrop:

ok, so why waste your precious few posts whining about me? if you don't like my posts either a) don't read them or b) ignore them.

You just let me worry about my time....but you can bet your ass it won't be posting on some other team's board....pathetic.

I haven't seen any facts from you. Just excuses. And they will hold little to no weight going forward. Tannehill will either make the leap, or he won't. Let's hope he does.

Luck
Stafford
Tannehill
Wilson
Foles
Newton
RGIII
Bradford
Dalton
Kaep

Wouldn't want anyone else

Ryan and Flacco are Veterans by now. Maybe move Stafford to the veteran list also.

Andrew Luck - Great QB, the full package.
Cam Newton - Has the athletic skills, but lacks of vision from time to time.
Ryan Tannehill - Must fix his long-distance throws, but has the skills to achieve great things as soon as Phins place a regular OL in front of him.
Russell Wilson - He has won a SB, great leader. But his running back is a beast and his defense helps a lot.
Colin Kaepernick - Just like Cam Newton has the skills, but his defense solves most things.
Nick Foles - System kid. Will have a serious backpedal because today teams know how to play him.
Andy Dalton - Without his stellar WR, he's nothing.
Robert Griffin - RG3 is a cool player, but surely not a great passer. At least not better than Tannehill.
Sam Bradford - Great QB, pathetic team. At this moment he's damaged
EJ Manuel - This is going to kick my ass, but he will be great in 2014 with such explosive weapons around him.
Mike Glennon - Has a great game from time to time.
Geno Smith - He won't last long in the league.
Brandon Weeden - A 129 years old QB is not a young player.
Christian Ponder - NEXT!!!

buffalofinfan has been trolling for an excuse to bring out his stats from footballoutsiders that show that, compared to Wilson, a much higher percentage of Tannehill's sacks are attributed to the O-line. Of course, he ignores the stat that shows that Wilson's % of sacks attributed to unblocked defenders are double that of Tannehill's. The statistic also fails to show how many sacks Wilson alluded by generating time with his feet - an area where he's miles and miles ahead of Tannehill. And he fails to take into account that sacks on QB's who buy time with their feet are going to take longer (statistically will look good for the O-linemen), because they're usually dodging the first guy. Tannehill didn't do anything to make Miami's O-line look better last season. Wilson bought a lot of time with his feet; it's one of his best attributes.

So yeah, sorry to ruin the suspense, but that's what buffalofinfan has been attempting to introduce. He just doesn't understand how it translates to football.
