Report: Dolphins players may have harassed team staffer

Nope. I am actually very familiar with the rules of the workplace. Offensive jokes become an issue when the joke or comment offends someone. If NOBODY is saying that the joking is offensive, then what is the issue?

The first time I let it go, but WOW you are actually trying to defend your case. Maybe you should go do some reading on workplace harrassment which is defined by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Here's a link...enjoy.

Frankly I dont care who was right or wrong in their relationship, it did not warrant all of this. So what if Incognito was a annoying dick..... I dont care how annoying he was, you dont quit and expect to keep getting paid. He robbing the dolphins right now....

LOL you think the actual interview took 7-8 hours. Boy you are niave.........

So now you are implying, that the son of two Harvard lawyers, who had 2 weeks to prepare for this meeting, just sat around having drinks for about 5 hours, and then gave 2 hours of his testimony to another NFL lawyer. You are reaching here!

Orlando, you do not have the same work place policies for every job. If you do let the person be known that you do not want the attention that person is giving you, then you have to take some of that responsibility.

Really? Federal law isn't they same everywhere? Try talking about that to your HR manager.

Breaking news! It is rumored that an unamed player said, "The 'F' word" during practice. Reportedly, Jim Turner was offended and told the investigator all about it.

Everyone's so sensitive.

I guess your never been to any type of interview or investigation. Unless you are an international terrorist being interrogated, the one on one interview with Martin did not take long. This was a volunteered interview, Martin didnt have to have this interview. There are lot of negotiating that went on between lawyers of both the NFL and the player. And yes there was probably a lot of coffee and wasting time (and what does Harvard have to do with anything).

Man, are you wrong on your first point, I have been around that environment more than you care to know. Negotiating?? What were they negotiating? This is a point that is honestly useless, so lets leave it at - they OFFICIALLY met for 7 hours. No big deal - move on.

Orlando, I can sit down with you with a HR person right now. There is a lot of subjectivity with it comes to HR. Hell right now in my job place, my boss was sleeping around with another co worker. That co worker show the sex tape with other co workers and the whole office knows. What the hell is HR suppose to do? The employees to some degree have to take responsibility who and how they interact with others.

I think we should all be on the lookout for analyses that are emotionally satisfying... be it blaming either guy entirely or blaming them both equally. A three viewpoints are simplistic, imo.

I think there are merits to a lot of the theories floating around here, even the ones I don't agree with. Ultimately, I've found in my life that there are two truths that I think apply to this situation:

1. Dysfunctional individuals should never be paired up together.
2. People will do a lot of things they wouldn't otherwise do if there is a strong financial incentive.

That may or may not be a simplistic view, but that's what I see from the outside. Incidentally, on point one, that absolutely applies to Pouncey and Incognito, too.

This behavior is no different in many workplaces in America.
You are correct but some people don't understand that society has changed and it is no longer acceptable behavior. It may even have been done innocently and quite humorous but in the same way that certain words used to be used by many are no longer acceptable. In simple terms, it is no longer acceptable to subject any persons of different ethnicity or persons with different sexual preferences or persons with disabilities, etc to be ridiculed. You may prefer it the way it was 20 years ago, but times have changed.
The people who are now in trouble are those who observed the ridicule by Incognito and buddy but did not report it, or if they did, those who did nothing about it. It doesn't matter if it was meant to be funny and boys just being boys, the rules of the game have changed and unfortunately, the Miami Dolphins happens to be in the spotlight. Every team GM is probably saying - "there but for the grace of god, goes us..."
