Certainly deserved. I don't hate it either. He's commanded a good crew for years, i don't doubt he could construct a disciplined football team. Just makes the coordinator hires that much more important obviously

I'm fine with the interview. This feels like a courtesy interview more than anything else though. I really doubt they go with an internal hire for head coach.

Just for reference, John Harbaugh was a special teams coach before he was in Baltimore. Rizzi's units are well prepared, and if he can translate that to offense and defense he would make a good HC.

I really can see this happening- not with necessarily Rizzi, but just a bridge type coach while the rebuild or attempt rebuild happens.
