Ryan Tannehill Names Himself Starter for Week 4

I give that ball a 50% chance of getting batted down if he goes to Miller just given the way the pocket was collapsing on the right side. Hartline plain dropped it. He killed that drive not Tannehill.

Good point! didnt notice that...

Wrong again... No drop and a small gain.

Throw to the open rb. Much larger gain. Possible touchdown.

Must..... Excuse.... Tannehill.... At.... All..... Costs.....

TANNEHENNE ALL DONE IN 2014..... NAILED IT!

So tell me are you hoping Tannehill has another bad game Sunday so you can blow your horn or are you pulling for the Dolphins?

I see posters more excited at Tannehill failure than Dolphin success.

There is no time to go through progressions on this play if Miller is going to let the blitzer go right by him. RT is about half a second from taking a sack on this play if he holds it. If going right was an option Miller needs to block and then release so there is time to hit Gibson or Wallace. Butthis was always a quick slant to Hartline by design.

yeah its easy when looking at a replay multiple times... Got the ball out quick on the blitz? check! threw an accurate ball and hit the WR in both hands in stride? check! First down! Oh wait, the receiver dropped it... dang! Let me ask you this, if Tannehill takes a second more to go around his reads and gets sacked, will you blame him for holding it to long?

The problem I have is if he knew it was a blitz then he should have known Miller was wide open. I watched the Chargers Bills game and a few times Rivers threw it to his outlet without even looking that way first. The color commentator, who I think used to be a QB mentioned it and remarked that shows how smart Rivers is, he could tell just from the pre-snap read that his outlet would always be open, and he could throw it there any time blind if he wanted.

For this particular play, I can't even fathom anyone blaming tannehill. It was a pass that hit his WR right in his hands. 100% of the blame is on hartline.

Last time that play was ran (on 3rd down) went to Lamar, wide open right in his catch zone and he dropped it.

Can't blame tanne for looking another way

Makes sense, but there s no way to know without a doubt anyway. Bottom line, it should have been a 1st down anyway, the ball was there it was a safe throw for a 1st down against an all out blitz... And Tannehill is no Rivers...lol!

But a lot of Tannehill blame is being thrown around by those who knew exactly what play was called.

I like the way Tannehill has responded to this bull**** distraction caused by the inexplicably stupid head coach. Now go out and stomp the ****ty Raiders like you're supposed to.

Lets take a look at Lamar Miller on this play!

Good catch. No throwing lane b.c pocket is blown up.

Great point.

You forget that Hartline (and few other Dolphin WRs) can catch a contested ball.

The next time Hartline gets more physical than the DB and wins a clearly contested ball, winning through contact to win the possession -- why, it will be the first time.

Slightest contact by the DB on this play and he falls down. Must be an ingrained reflex.
