Schefter: Fins zeroing in on Kubiak, Shanhan, or McAdoo for OC

2 things.

1. I think Kubiak might have had enough of being a HC. His health is a bigger factor to me than whether or not he leaves.
2. I think Shanahan would be a real solid pick. Look how well the 'skins ran the ball with just an ok line and no name running back. If they had the sort of WR and TE talent Miami did they might have been very potent. Also, the entire RG3 situation is a shambles. Any time he doesn't get his way his dad is in someone's ear in the front office. How are you supposed to coach up a player like that? RG3 is clearly more interested in being a commercial success right now. RT isn't anything like that and he might take quickly to Shanahan's tuteledge.

In short I'm good with either Kubiak or Shanahan. I don't know nearly enough about McAdoo to have an opinion, but I look at how much different GB is without Rodgers and question if he won't need a superstar to be really good.

I only know of Kubiak. And I can't think of a single bad thing any player or colleague has ever said about the man. He's had great offenses as a OC and HC. That tells me something. And I think the types of personnel he has used over the years to run his offense can be found in our players.

Those 1,500 yards that Miller was predicting last year could happen with Kubiak. But we need to address the trenches and short yardage. And our TE's need more depth and development. I so wish Keller is wanted back and can finally have a full year to show everyone what he can do. Right before his injury, you could see something really special starting to take place between him and Ryan.

Bartender, I'll take a shot of "Kubiak".

If we get a great GM then Kubiak, if we get a decent GM then McAdoo. Imo it all depends on how well we patch up that O-line because you can't run without one.

McAdoo could be a great OC, but I am hoping for Kubiak.

If we are somehow lucky enough to land Gary Kubiak as our new OC I will do cartwheels. And then send Mike Sherman a thank-you note for convincing his friend Gary to take the job.

Kubiak is absolutely phenomenal. You will see a totally different Ryan Tannehill, in terms of production, under his offense.

I'll do cartwheels. CARTWHEELS.

Video or it didnt happen

I thought he started under him in Denver? My mistake.

Jake Plummer's career. Take a wild guess who his OC was from 2003-2005.

Plummer is a snake

Wasn't a prediction, it was his goal and Miller may not get that chance next year. New GM could decide on a every down back with more power next year. The draft has some options IMO. Miller better come back next year with about 10 lbs more muscle and ready to compete for his job.

Plummer is a snake

His nickname, "Jake the Snake," was given to him as a tribute to professional wrestler, Jake "the Snake" Roberts. Coincidentally, Roberts adopted that nickname as a tribute to his favorite NFL player, former Oakland Raiders quarterback Ken Stabler, who was nicknamed "the Snake."

Interestingly, and few people know this, Ken Stabler got his nickname "the snake" from a burlesque dancer name Maura "The Snake" Silverfin.

he's not gaining 1500 yards when he doesn't run thru contact unless the seas just part...and even then in the open field he picks the route to get tackled...but at least he's north and south and takes what is given

i think the teams not happy with his performance frankly...i know i wasn't despite our run blocking issues...in pass pro good grief gets run over by corners off the slot at times...can't happen

it's 218 that might as well be 200 with his game...

Lamar Miller is better suited as someone in a running back by committee approach or as a change of pace guy. I like the player, and think he adds playmaking value and explosiveness, but he is not an every-down, 250-300 carry, 1100-1200 yard guy. I want him to get a certain number of touches though. He needs to shore up his pass pro blocking and hands when catching the football too.

Daniel Thomas gives good effort at times but he is so mediocre and just a guy. Gillislee too. There needs to be change in one or both of those roster spots.

Well, both Thomas and Gilislee could go and no one would really notice. Neither one does anything special. Miller has breakaway speed, if he could just break away once in a while. I think one way or another Miami ends up with another RB in the mix this year, someone who is a more decisive runner than anyone we have now.

Sounds like Lazor's interview with Philbin didn't go well enough. Maybe they had philosophical differences. I tell ya what; Lazor's work with Nick Foles was intriguing.

Didn't Kubiak's team just go 4-13 with A probowl WR a pretty good young WR in Hopkins/ two stud RB's and an above average Oline? Am I missing something?
