Steelers Pick - The Gift That Keeps On Giving

bush league team doin bush league things....

crowd was booing the flag for a helmet to helmet when the kid was still on the ground from an obvious concussion

had to shower after watching that game last night

yuck

Garrett should be charged. That is an assault with a deadly weapon. Hitting, punching, kicking... all that - I don't care about. A certain level of violence is accepted. But when you hit a guy on his exposed head with an object that can kill, it doesn't matter if it's "on the field" or not. There's precedent in pro-sports of players being charge with assault that took place during a game, and in this case it should be no different.

I might be in the minority on this, but I think epic end-of-game brawls need to happen more often. 1) Its a barbaric sport: brawls are barbaric. 2) What other reasons are there to watch the end of meaningless game that is already decided? 3) They could suspend the players who acted most egregiously during the brawl and have them featured in the WWNFL, a brand new wrestling show that would air an hour before SNF, during their suspension.

So what about baseball players throwing balls directly at players? Would you classify that in the same category? :munch:

If you can prove they were trying to hit them on the exposed head, and not brushing them off... The biggest difference of course is that the batter has 90 feet to react. Would you think it's okay if the batter were in close proximity, say, arms length, and someone threw a ball at his face? How about he the batter hit the pitcher with the bat? That's not an assault? Hell what if there's a brawl and a player hits another player with a bat?

I did not see it live but I can say this is a disgusting display. Rudolph instigated Garrett took the bait then want waaaaaay over the line with using the helmet as a weapon. Then Pouncey went waaaay over by basically beating a guy who was being held down by the only person to keep his cool in Decastro (I originally said Villanueva sorry, wanna give props where they are due*) so this could have been a lot worse but he actually understands controlling your aggression.

The NFL is ****ED BIG TIME. They cannot win and GOOD they deserve to be put in this scenario with how poorly they have treated off the field cases for "star" players. They will get yelled at for both under penalizing for the actions and if they over penalize when compared to assaulting women or committing other horrendous crimes. Goddell made this bed and now he has to ****ing sleep in it, glad you make 40 million a year dude you are going to need to buy a private island to get away from the **** storm you are about to enter.

I wont get political because this is not the place for this but the NFL has its priorities backwards, hope this shakes the tree and gets things right.

The Chiefs cut Hunt. This is worse imo.

I love how people are ignoring Mason Rudolph rushing at Garrett like a total ****ing dumbass after he took his helmet. Not excusing what Garrett did, but Rudolph should have backed down instead of trying to look like a tough guy. He's an idiot. I'm sorry but I refuse sympathize the instigator. Garrett deserves the suspension he's getting and let's leave it at that.

But seriously, what you saw last night was worse than Kareem Hunt beating a woman? Wow.

I'll wager Pouncey gets 2-4 games and Garrett is suspended either for the rest of the season or "indefinitely pending review." There's simply nothing quite like what Garrett did *on the field* to compare this to.

I'm *hoping* he means that this incident is worse in the sense that this happened on national television, in HD, in front of tens of thousands of witnesses, not that the act itself is worse.

I just rewatched the hunt video. It was pushing and shoving between two drunk morons. There were no punches and the worse thing that happened was a kick/shove which the girl was on her knees.

I think this is not entirely true, they have a basis on some hitting and stomping on guys that have been done before even guys throwing equipment etc etc. While this will set the precedent for this type of thing exactly there is a base but NFL is screwed either way.
