Tannehill, Luck ,RG3 , Foles

I've forgotten more about football then you will ever know. Simple as that. And im assuming your agreeing that RT's ceiling is that of Alex Smith?

Apparently you've forgotten all about grammar as well.

80 passer rating is not even average anymore. Out of 35 qualifying QBs 80 PR is good for 27th. Tannehill is 29th.

Trust me the "Tannehill Twat Brigade" will point to PFFs #2 rating/second best QB in the NFL, Ryan Tannehill after 2 games

How did Luck look last night? How about Manning the the SB? Rodgers against Seattle in week 1? Brady against us in week 1?

I see where you are coming from, but you are bringing up 3 SB winning QBs and a kid that has taken his team to the playoffs twice and has looked very good since he started in this league.

RT hasn't really taken any steps forward since the middle of last season. I don't think he's reached his ceiling, as I do believe that he is probably capable of improving some more (not a lot though) and I think that the new offense has pushed him back some, but right now he's hit a wall.

I don't get why people are getting so amped up at others venting about it though. In the end, those that want to see RT out there will get their wish. Philbin and RT will be here rain or shine until the end of this season. If success follows then they'll see them more, and if it doesn't, then they won't. Unless he throws 3 INTs in consecutive games or something like an injury happens, Philbin won't move away from RT. That is HIS QB like Fiedler was Wannstedt's. You might get a Brian Griese (Matt Moore) moment at some point, but make no mistake, RT is Philbin's Fiedler (QB).

The point is that even SB winning QBs are impacted by pass pressure. Why are we expecting anything different from Tannehill?

Does anyone actually believe that the rest of the team played well? ANYONE?

I watched Nick Foles play no better than Tannehill yet, he team didn't implode around him. Despite some (6 or 7) bad throws, linemen still blocked, RBs still ran, receivers still caught. Punters didn't start getting punts blocked and shank kicks. Kick coverage teams didn't fall apart. Punt returners didn't go blind. The defense didn't stop playing.

Tannehill deserves blame for his part, BUT so does everyone else.

I am a RT fan, but....until he has a game where he takes this team on his back and wills it to win (see Luck and Colts vs. Chiefs in last years playoffs) then no one here will believe he has that special quality that the greats all have. There's still time for him, but not much. It's maddening to watch some of the plays he makes one week and the next we're back to Bubby Brister or worse. No consistency whatsoever.

It's early. Defenses are always ahead of offenses at this time of year. If we still have these issues when Pouncey returns I'll be worried. But, new offense, 5 new OL, an w lost our best RB.

Tannehill wasn't good enough. Neither was Shelley, Miller, and almost all of our WR's and TE's. Lazor may have taken the blame ... but the entire team was sloppy. We were soundly whooped in every phase of the game. It happens. Learn from it and move on.

And we have Lamar "brick hands" Miller. If only we still had Reggie Bush around... (but poor Principal Philbin couldn't handle an actual leader on the team, so we can't enjoy that)

That was by far the most painful play of the night. Such an easy catch upon a critical third down.

I agree with you. I'm starting to get the sense that Tannehill will be a guy who only puts it all together several years into his career on his 2nd or 3rd team like Rich Gannon (who hr was compared to during the draft process) and Kerry Collins.

I don't like these comparisons but here is a crazy statistic I just saw:

Foles had 331 yards passing tonight. 233 were from YAC. That's insane. That's... impressive.

I think that's what our offense is trying to do with the dinky screen passes. The difference is that we don't have LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles, and a freakishly good downfield blocking OL.

This. A million times, this.

WR personnel is one thing. You do need to hit them in stride as well. Bending backwards to catch a pass will not get you YAC.

With better ball placement Tannehill is a top ranked qb so far this year and this whole board is high on Tanny. Nope, he has been throwing the ball ****ty and we're trying to make ourselves feel better comparing him to qbs that are playing ****ty.

What has it come too.

Your recent posts indicate that you have gotten some lenses in those frames.

I'll answer that: no they won't be.

I always do. I gave him a thumbs up for the second half of the Pats game as well. His stats were worse than in the first half but he played smarter and better overall.

On the other side of the coin you have those who think Tannehill can do no wrong. Plenty of those in this thread.
