The Lions receiving core or Ours?

Miami the best WR corps in the NFL?! Your WR's aren't even better than

New England
Buffalo
Jersey

who are in your division.

:roflmao:

I'd put Miami's receivers up against any in the division right now. How can you even mention the Jets? They are average, at best. The only team that comes close is Buffalo with Moulds and Evans.

If the Rams could pick up a decent tight end they'd have Bruce, Holt, Faulk, and somebody. Don't know who their #3 WR is though.

And not that it's all that important, but "core" is actually spelled "corps."
McDonald is thier number 3, TE is Manamanaula

So if we are to compare division RB's can Buffalo include Losman because he's a mobile QB and the rest of the division is not?

Compare WR's. Once you start adding in the threats of TE's, RB's, FB's ad nauseaum you might as well throw in the pass protection ability of the offensive line and QB's as well and label this "best passing attacks".

If we are to play that game then the best passing attacks in the division would be:

New England: Brady, 5-6 WR's that can gain quickly gain separation, many talented TE's, and one of the best pass protection lines in the NFL.

New York: Pennington with Coles & Mcarreins, great O-line.

Buffalo: Losman is a big mystery at this point but at least he has Moulds, Evans, and Parrish. Bills line should be very solid scheme wise in pass protection with Jim Mcnally running the show.

Miami: Feeley or Frerotte will keep this attack from scaring anyone. Chambers, Booker, and Boston are mainly possession receivers, and Randy McMichael is a very good pass catcher. Offensive line was horrendous at protecting the QB last year and little talent has been brought in.

Alright I was with until you said CC was a possession receiver. Dont mix up how he was used with what he is. CC is a big play receiver with speed. Our o-line could not give protection for us to go deep.

And you say Losman is unproven but he has Moulds, Evans and Parrish as if they will make up for his inexperience and uncertainty. Using that same argument, why wouldnt a potential big threat wr in CC, 2 former probowlers and a top 5 TE not do teh same for AJ? It is the exact same argument. Your bias has nothing to do with the outcome.

if healthy LIONS by a landslide. if roy williams woulda stayed healthy he would have easily won rookie of the year. charles rogers is an incredible athlete and has randy moss like ability. yet again with the health issues. mike williams is a guy i thought we should have drafted instead of ronnie brown.

if you are telling me you are gettng the dolphins WRs at their best then I take Miami, if not I take Detroit. Neither team has a good QB so that needs to be factored in and both WR corps have question marks. Detroit has young receivers who have falshd potential but need to be more consistent and Miami has older WRs who have steadily declined in years w/ the exception of Chambers who has never stepped up to be an elite WR. If I know Booker will be Booker '01 or '02 or that Boston will be the guy who showed so much potential in AZ or SD the I'd take Miami's but both teams have excellent potential at WR and Miami has the better pass catching TE.

I'll take Coles, McCareins, Cotchery, Chrebet & Jolley/Baker w/ Chad Pennington throwing the ball over anything you got. POTENTIALLY you have a better group of receivers but I wouldn't bet on Boston or Booker and you guys vastly overrate Chambers. he's good but he's been in the league 5 years and has no 1,000 yd seasons.

If you are just comparing the Lions WR's against ours overall I think ours is a tad better but I think Roy Williams is the best WR on both teams. I think the Colts WR's as a team are slightly better then ours but that is only cause they have a stud QB where we have a dud QB.

I'd take our WR core b/c Detroit's isn't experienced enough. Mike Williams is the rook of the bunch, Charles Rogers spends his time getting hurt, and even Roy Williams gets dinged up now and again. McMichael is better then Pollard, and I think Brown is a better option then Jones.

IN a few years though, I see Detroit's WR, with more experience, possibly being better

i think the thread was just based off of the collective talent and ability of the WRs and nothing to do w/QB. for example, if you pu TO,Moss, and Chad Johnson on one team, they would be the best corps in the NFL no matter who the QB is.

When both HEALTHY I like David Boston over Charles Rogers
Roy Williams over Chris Chambers :(
and this is a tough one but unless he shows himself to be a bust Mike Williams over Marty Booker. That's a big question mark... so instead of calling this a Detroit by defeat, I'm going to call it a tie until proven otherwise.

I'm out. :goof:[/QUOTE]

i dont think u can really compare boston to rogers cause theyre never healthy. both rogers and boston can be incredible but always hurting.

See that is what Im talking about. You are an unrealistic person. How do you know this to be true? What has he proven?

I would understand if you said "I hope Ronnie Brown tears up the league." But you people are coming out and flat saying that he is going to do this and do that. Do you freaking have a crystal ball?
Ronnie will have the time to mature, but definately is a very good football player, the fact the RW is coming back the fins are pretty well set at the position.

Colts Lions and then Dolphins in that order. What worries me also about the Phins is..we have no quality backup receivers if Chambers,Booker or Boston goes down and with Boston's history of injury this is a real possibility.

Jeez, the question was who has the better pass catchers, Detroit or Miami, and you turn it into who has the best o-line in the AFC East...thanks for playing.
