I think they were really counting on his scoring with the second unit. Too bad he went bananas.

No doubt we needed his scoring. Without him we are relying on Winslow basically. Tyler Johnson is inconsistent and mario is gone. Maybe Uldrih can help us

Winslow is playing great D but who is our scorer off the bench when Wade sits ?

Are the guys we traded for any good ?

Stokes has basically no stats so i doubt he will even play. I think Uldrih is halfway decent. Basically a cheaper version of Chalmers meaning he is inconsistent

So it was just dumping Mario's salary basically

They are going to need every penny if they want to resign Whiteside or go after Durant need year.

Yea trying to save in the luxury tax bill. I'd consider trading Deng for a 3 point specialist. Winslow can start at the 3. Essentially he has been playing starter minutes

Deng's strength is his ability to play d against the likes of LeBron or try to and Winslow can do that. Just needs to improves his shooting. 10 - 12 points a game would be fine with 5 rebounds and good D. I think he can do that.

One of the best lineups Spoelstra has thrown out there is with Deng and Winslow playing together with Whiteside or Bosh in the frontcourt. Deng hasn't played well and doesn't look like a very good fit in the starting lineup but I doubt he gets traded. Aside from the simple logistics of finding another player making 8-10 mil with only one year left on their contract Deng still provides some defensive versatility and I think he'll start to play better. He looks a little out of shape but a few months of running 5 miles a day will fix that.

If Chalmers was making his jump shot he would have been hard to trade, even with the cash savings. But hes been missing for more than a year now and without that three point shot its hard to put up with all the idiotic things he does. Hes still going to be missed....even his detractors like myself have to admit that hes been playing much better defense the last couple years. There's a pretty big dropoff between him and Dragic/TJ. Richardson can offer some of that but hes probably going to disappear again once Green comes back.

Its so unusual not having Rio to kick around anymore. As extreme a player of highs and lows as we will ever see. He's a doofus and I hated his game for the most part but weirdly I miss him. If he'd just learned to restrict himself to being a 3 and D player he would have been enormously useful to this team but he just couldn't help reverting to wario.

Thankfully, this opens a big playing time spike for TJ who absolutely deserves it and Josh who's shown promise. Getting stokes back is somewhat interesting. He's a great rebounder and if he has the will he'd be a udonis jr, but it's a bit of a long shot. Doubt beno has a role on this team and will probably be packaged w bird before the deadline.

If Dragic starts playing better I think this can be a special season for Miami. I know the Cavs are about to get Irving back. But let's be honest. You can count on Irving being healthy about as much as you can count on Wade being healthy

We need to win our division and at least get the #3 seed. In the playoffs anything can happen.

Been on the other side of that many times. They had our number for many years.
