Or a franchise QB in Ryan Tannehill. Finheaven knows best!
I dont think most of the posters here believe or think Tannehill is a franchise QB. But that he's the best QB on our roster now.

i understand his stat sheet looked good, but i was at that game, and i am sure u saw the game as well.I just went back and checked...

Henne had 416 passing yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. That's a pretty solid outing.
He dropped off considerably in week 2 against the Texans.
Stats-wise he had decent game in Week 3 against the Browns, but I remember being truly pissed after that game, so it couldnt have been all that great.
And then he got injured in the next game I believe against the Chargers. (I didn't watch that game as I was in Vegas at the time, so I don't recall how he was doing before injury)
okay I'll play too.
Tannehill
» 6-8: .4285 winning percentage vs playoff teams
Guess Who:
» Overall 15 out of 37: .4054 winning percentage against playoff teams incl POs
» Regular Season: 14 out of 32: .4375 vs winning percentage vs playoff teams
» Postseason: 1 win out of 5: .200 winning percenage vs playoff teams
"he's not even .500 against them" ("them" being formidible teams as born out over 5 playoff games) :idk:
Yeah I seem to recall Henne having a lot of garbage stats that game and may be an example of how the stats can lie. That argument is a double edged word anyway because stats-wise Henne had 2 good games of his first 3 in a new offense.

without u ever saying the qb u r reffering to, i can tell its matt ryan, and this argument is so dumb.
if u really can not tell the difference between tannehill and matt ryan, i do not know what games u r watching.
also, the only reason i brought up tannehills record vs playoff teams, was because rent the space kept on saying how one thing that makes tannehill better than moore was he can beat playoff teams. as u see though, moore only faced 2 playoff teams in that season, while tannehill has faced 14 playoff teams and is sub 500.
also, i didnt even look at the record that tannehill has vs non playoff teams, i am sure that is really ugly.
never beats the bills, lost to the bucs who were 0-8 , the titans 37-3 in 2012, jets 2x,
No what's actually stupid is the loss of objective credibility by turning a blind eye to and defending a QB going back to his senior year Title game against VT who
» disappears the 2nd halfs, is ranked 140th out of 140 playoff-playing QBs,
» consistently demonstrates that in the second half of crunch time, win or go home games not even a first half 20pt lead is safe, with corresponding stats
» has been shut out in 6 of the 10 NFL 2nd half postseason quarters, and having been outscored by a combined 6 points in 5 first halfs was outscored by over 80 combined in 5 second halfs.
while continuing to rail against a QB who's not looked good since the Buffalo mugging but with what he had to work, a case can be made that he actually over-achieved prior to that.
By not acknowledging: "wow, I didn't realize that Ryan's in-season record against playoff bound teams was only a tad better than winning 2 out of every 5 - but considering he beat (and just barely) 1 out of 5 playoff teams in the playoffs, it really does confirm his chokeability when the lights are brightest." you make my case that when the Melty fluffers choose to ignore or rationalize away that in-your-face reality while dissecting every debatable Tannehill play, they concede any high-ground when it comes to objectivity!
If his rationalizers and excusers would merely admit having the benefit of more than sufficient evidence, that when it comes to postseason second halfs, Melty seems to be missing something clutch between the ears and legs rather than reflexively defending him and that he'd have fared even worse if chosen here without Roddy, Julio, Tony and crew, maybe I can take your criticisms of other QBs more seriously and be less "Melty-OCD" pointing out how disingenuous Tannehill's most OCD, Melty fanboi critics actually are. . Both could happen, but I doubt it. :idk:
rent this space, i went and looked up his record vs playoff teams from those years as fins qb.
in 14 games, he is 6-8 vs playoff teams, so u saying he can beat playoff teams, he is not even 500 vs them.
I think that demonstrates further that this team is pretty damn good minus the QB.
Because while we have been able to beat some good teams when Tannehill has a good game(good game for him which is an average game by NFL QB standards) we can beat almost anyone. Yet, we manage to lose to garbage teams with Tannehill at QB because when he is at his normal ability it completely kills the teams chances of winning.
Good QBs do not have outstanding records vs. playoff teams. You are supposed to lose games to playoff teams for the most part, especially on the road. 6-8 vs playoff teams would be fine if we beat the non-playoff teams 90% of the time. We would win 12 games per season that way. That is why we went 11-5 with Pennington. He provided solid but, not spectacular QB play and we beat all of the teams we were better than on our schedule.
henne was at least able to get garbage yds, not that it means anything, hence the word garbage.
tannehill can not even inflate his states in blowouts when defenses give u those 5-10 free yds by playing prevent defense.
this qb has got to go, philbin would have been smart to make a change this week before its too late.
Really dumb argument right here...endorsing padding garbage time stats...why don't you take a look at henne vs tannehills red zone td efficiency numbers head to head and bring up something that actually matters
This is most frustrating thing about Tannehill, he flashes the ability to beat the top teams in the league but lays an egg against the bottom-feeders. He's been the picture of inconsistency and isn't looking like the answer.I think that demonstrates further that this team is pretty damn good minus the QB.

i was just pointing out to another poster when he brought up henne vs tannehill, truth is they both suck, its irrelevant.
