There are 2 Dolphins I am sad for

Hope yall realize it's going to take at least a year to get the oline turned around. At this point only right tackle and left guard are PROBABLY settled. Before the Qback and WR's can get consistant , before we can get a running game, the oline has come together.

I think it can happen a little quicker than that. Some of last years group will probably be returning in 2005 as starters. I have no clue who the best 5 will be but that's the route Saban should go and the staff needs to figure this out quickly. They can't fiddle faddle around with an open competition until week 1 of the regular season like Wanny did last year. This line needs to be playing together by the 3rd preseason game in order to build some cohesion. I think the line improved towards the end of last season, but it still has a ways to go. I think with the players we currently have to work with, Houck, some position juggling and a FULL camp together (decide fast screw competition) we could be much better come mid season.

God TOS suks right now. Get real and get some intelligence, How exactly does a qb provide protection? He should be a franchise LT as well as a franchise QB?

Cry in your spilled milk that you know more than Saban because we didnt draft a qb. Waaaa, waaaa. Grow up, have some faith in teh coach who many wanted, at least give him the benefit of teh doubt. Every draft expert except Pricko gave us high marks, so trust Nick.

Chill dude. There was no need for you to go off on him like that.

Seriously, give AJ a chance. I think this will be his make or break year. Some haters would love to see him gone already, but not even Dan the man would have survived with last season's o-line and with no running game whatsoever, not to mention a lack of #2 receiver. If AJ can't get it done this season then I will be the first to want him gone, but he shoudl at least get a shot.

I would watch your mouth son. Did I take a shot at Saban or the draft? No. I have posted several time this is the best draft that I can remember in my 20 years as Dolphan. When we signed Saban I thanked god dispite not beleaving in him.

We had alot of holes to fill, and we did a great job filling the ones we could through the draft. Does that make me lose touch with realalty? No. We still have a QB that threw more tds for the other team than he did ours. Stocker McDougal can not single handedly save one of the worst o-lines in the NFL. There is a chance the o-line turns it around, and AJ lights it up, but that is a big maybee. I am not questioning the choices Nick made I am simply pointing out we still have a couple holes, and Randy is in a contract year.

Ok I apologize reread your post, misread what you said.

But that is teh question you see isnt it? You say it is a foregone conclusion that AJ cant be that qb. I say how? Based on last year? Can you really make a full judgement on him based on that? To me Saban doesnt think so since he didnt make it top priority in the draft.

why cant anyone give AJ a chance? :yell:

Jt - that would be common sense. There is little of that to be found here.

Another year starts, and Chambers and McMichael don't have the support for them to finally show off how good they can be. We all know they are very talented, but neither of them have put up the pro bowl numbers that they are more than capable of doing. You put these guys on a team that can protect the QB long enough for them to run deep routes, and a QB that could get them ball consistently, and they both are shu ins for the probowl. I hope before either of them depart we get a QB that can utilize these two talents.

Oh please Randy had his best season last year...and AJ only played half the time

I think you are wrong in your assessment. If I were Chambers and McMike, I'd be excited right now...the biggest problem that they have had is offensive scheme (run first, second, and pass only if it is absolutely necessary) and last year in particular, the OL...The OL has some talent, and now we have a coach. The scheme will change under Saban/Linehan to a more balanced attack. Gone are the days of playing to not lose instead of playing to win. Lets see how things shake out with the O scheme before we worry about the QB...afterall, if Feeley and even Ears weren't running for their lives out of the backfield most of last year, they might have been able to complete a pass to CC and/or RM....

Gus Frerotte can throw the deep ball, and the O-line will be better this year.

I think things will improve. However, I do share Dejesus concern for the offense. We need a lot of players on that line and at QB, to play better than they ever have.
We got some needed infusion of youth and talent on Defense. Ronnie Brown is a good start on offense. We can't rebuild the team in one offseason. So lets all be patient, take our 8-8 or 9-7 year this year, then come back and fill in the rest next off season and bring home the Lombardi in 2007. Okay with you guys?

i´m with you, but i think next season after when we have all the picks in the draft, we could pull a san diego type season and surprise some people, but overall 2007 sound good to me, i can wait

Chambers is a very good number 2 reciver. He dosen't have the size to be a true number one. While your recievers are servicable a #1 go-to guy that will make the catch for the first down, the kind of guy that demands a double team every play, would make Chambers much better.

As of yet he hasn't proven he can carry the load.

you are right, he hasn´t really brought up consistency with his play, but this is not his fault alone, if he is not having a breakout season this year and i know i was one of the guys, who said it the last 2 seasons that he will have a breakout year this year and so on, i sure will be on your side that he is only a #2, but one things for sure, size isn´t the problem with chambers he is a freak of nature....

Chambers has been doubled teams his entire time on the team aside from his rookie year and has never had a legit #2 WR across from him aside from last year when our offense would have made the Piper High Bengals (shameless HS alumi plug) defense look all pro.

McMichael had his best professional year with our O being atrocious

Our QB had no protection

Our RB corps resemebled a MASH unit

----What he have to look foward to:
A top rookie RB
A youth inject D mixed with very good vets
Non-B***H-like play calling
A coach who doesnt have a 70's porn star mustache...

I dont know about you all, but I am not in the mood to complain :-)

Yes they will because AJ won't be starting Gus Frerotte will be, and Frerotte knows who to get the ball to and knows the offense like the back of his hand.

- The answer for AJ , Chambers , McMike etc.. is the line. Will they continue to improve ( as oppose to how bad they were at the beginning of the season). If that happens , then we have a running game that opens up the passing game. Last year the QB was even out of his drop before getting killed half the time.

- These guys can make the Pro Bowl with AJ getting the time.
