Why is everyone so hell bent on getting a quarterback this year? I get it. I get that having a solid quarterback is the foundation of building a team, but let's not pretend like Miami is a quarterback away from being competitive. There are a lot more things that have to be done in Miami before they can become competitive. At nine or eight, people are advocating trading the farm to move up for RG3, who I don't think will amount to much. And then there are those who advocate signing Flynn, who isn't proven, either, and would cost a lot against the cap.
Simple solution: why not take care of the offensive line and defensive holes this year, and trade down if neccesary, stocking up picks as ammunitions to trade up for a quarterback next year. Until then, the team should be fine. There is no one single formula to building a team, and being so quarterback-focused this year could come back to haunt the team. You make the best of a situation if you don't get the guy you want, rather than settle for the guy you might not want.
Besides, long-term wise, waiting for a new QB in 2013 is much more cost-effective than signing Flynn or trade up for a quarterback who wasn't that highly-ranked in the first place.

Hochman isn't this insane. Fake Hochman maybe.Lol. OP is a local radio personality. It actually has no relevance that I'm saying this. The thread will still continue for pages as if I've said nothing. Which actually makes me laugh more

So I guess you suggest giving up 2 or 3 years worth of first round picks and some second rounders for 1 guy that is not a guarantee to be a great quarterback (see Joey Harrington, Akili Smith, Tim Couch, and lets not forget, Ryan Leaf). Or maybe you suggest giving away all of these potentially good players for 1 player, and surround him with a shaky offensive line. Matt Moore wasn't the best, but he is serviceable for the time being. There are too many holes on this team to give away draft picks for one player. I know quarterback is important, but I would not trade the farm for one guy. I know that it is a different sport, but look at how the Knicks look after giving away a ton of players for Carmelo Anthony. Then look at the Nuggets that have all of those players that the Knicks stupidly gave away. What? Did you just become a fan this year? Have you not witnessed the QB play over the past 12 years? Terrible thread...
You're not giving up two or three first rounders to get Griffin. You'll give up a first and second and either a late rounder or marginal player. Only Andrew Luck is worth multiple 1st rounders but the Colts are not trading that pick.So I guess you suggest giving up 2 or 3 years worth of first round picks and some second rounders for 1 guy that is not a guarantee to be a great quarterback (see Joey Harrington, Akili Smith, Tim Couch, and lets not forget, Ryan Leaf). Our formula for success hasn't been.....well....successful. I am ready to try another approach and if that's selecting a qb in round 1 or 2 then so be it. If it for some reason doesn't work out then we draw up another strategy, but at least we can say we tried
How can anyone can say pass on a QB????? After everything we've been through???? After everything we're going through????
One of the worst ideas I've ever heard on this board. Let's fix our biggest problem by avoiding it completely.
