This is what happens when you overpay for stats instead of championships.

Buffalo missed their window. They will never win anything with Allen because he turns the ball over more than any qb and he runs too much. They basically have no weapons, their defense isn’t good and neither is their coach. They need to hit big on some draft picks to stay competitive like KC but Allen isn’t on Mahomes’s level

Maybe to some extent, but I don't see a parallel to the RB situation.

For one, generally high level output of most backs is coming to an end about the time their rookie deals expire. Top QB careers are substantially longer.

A QB touches the ball virtually every offensive snap, and is inarguably the most important offensive player as a rule.

You are also never likely to see an effective QB by committee approach.

What may happen is a situation where there are fewer highly paid QBs, a lot of cheap QBs, and no middle ground, at least in FA. Guys who get 5th yr options will always have a middle ground.
QB by committee would be a lot of fun though. Bring in the strong armed QB to throw the Hail Mary, the mobile guy for a designed run - or in a game where the other team is getting too much pressure. Sit the mobile guy for the pocket passer when you’re getting a great pocket and tons of time. Bring in the physical QB for the sneak play. Might make the game more interesting. Hey, the Woodstock years were kinda fun, weren’t they?

Got them to a Superbowl

This is what happens when you give QBs mega contracts.
It's not particularly on THAT team that signed him though...because had they not, somebody else would've...probably even more. It's just the evolution of the QB market...I don't see how, with the CBA, they can do anything to slow it down...outside the owners all agreeing the most they'll pay a QB is a certain % of cap (and actually trust each other to do it)...but that would likely be against league rules/policies lol.

Pretty standard cap charge at this point.

Honestly, he’s probably under paid.

Maybe average yeah because he signed few years ago but next few years are rough. Cheap part is over and they backed filled it so next 3 years are 47, 56 and 52. Bills don’t really have any easy cuts. Can move on from diggs and Miller but they are still in the negative after those moves and those contracts they are owed more guaranteed money then their cap hit so they’d take a pretty hefty dead cap fee.

The Bills are totally F-d next year.

As we have all been repeatedly lectured, Any QB who doesn't win a SB within 3 years sucks and should be replaced! Allen is trash!
1. His arm is too strong and sometimes the velocity inflicts "ouchies" on WRs hands.
2. His is massively overweight for a QB.
3. He obviously has suffered brain concussion trauma because at times he thinks he is a RB!
4. Far too upbeat/positive in sh1t city with Sh1t weather. Not a leader!

Hahaha “ouchies”. 😂

Something’s gotta give in the not too distant future because the salaries QB’s are starting to get makes it damn near impossible to fill out a roster. If the cap doesn’t rise by ridiculous amounts in the near future, it’s going to absolutely ravage teams.

Case in point: In 2026, a mere 2 seasons away, Lamar Jackson’s cap # is $74.6 million. No joke, I had to do a triple take just to make sure I was reading it right. Regardless of how good the QB is, how in the **** can you even begin to field a team when you’re on the hook for $74.6 million dollars for a single player?!
I have said this many times before but all the normies say if anything they are under paid…lmao

Sounds like a Steve Spurrier strategy to me.

Playing your heart out and losing multiple tight games to Mahomes in the playoffs is hardly a crime. Darn right you pay for that opportunity.

It should be some type of sports fan felony to watch a few Chiefs regular season games and proclaim they are overrated and a preferred opponent in the playoffs. It's very high among the most asinine summaries I've heard in 50+ years of following this sport

They aren’t screwed. They have a young stud QB, who for as long as he’s there playing at the level he has been playing at, will keep his team’s championship window open. They will just convert his salary into guaranteed money to lower his cap hit and spread out that money over future years. It’s the contracts they gave to Diggs and Miller that are more troublesome.

That’s part of it. But this illusion that Josh Allen does it himself is funny.

Even against our injury ridden team he needed a special teams TD and a DEFENSIVE turniver to have post like your and groupies like Romo to continue make him the living legend.
