Do you think they are going to have enough room for spectators at that spot? Or perhaps a ton of people are going to be out of luck and stuck far away?
That is actually a real good question. There is not much room for people. I guess they can line up around the water like they do for the fountain play but most of them would look at the stage from the side or back. Putting bleacher seating on the strip facing the fountain is problematic because unless the seats are high enough you'd be looking at a row of trees.
When they decided on Vegas I figured they have two options: outdoor or indoor. Indoor should be no problem. There are plenty of hotels with indoor theaters plus you have the arena where the Knights play.

Outdoor: The strip doesn't really have a "plaza" area where you can put a lot of people in a certain spot with a good view so I figured they would use the strip itself. Put a stage in the middle of the street and bleachers in front of it, best would be intersections where there is no median with bushes and trees.

If that fountain rendering is indeed a true proposal I am curious how they make that work. The Cosmo is going to make a killing.

Actually marginal. It is an ok spot. Great if you book the right hotel. Someone on here booked the Mandalay Bay. If the Bellagio Fountain area as stage holds true then it is quite a hike from there. Vegas tends to shut down the strip for traffic for big events like that. Even if they keep it partially open driving will not be an option. And god forbid the Knights have a playoff time at the same time.

I read that the water/stage area is ONLY for the red carpet walk-up. Actual draft held elsewhere.

The league is taking over a nearby parking lot and setting up 1 million square feet of space for draft festivities, including the main stage area. That’s where the green room will be set up, so players can simply walk to the stage and shake the commissioner’s hand instead of having to endure an awkward ride on a pontoon boat.

Excellent info. So the Bellagio fountain area is a secondary stage? I wasn't aware that there was a red carpet stage and a draft stage. The only stage I have seen on TV was were Goodell announces the draft pics. Who knew.

Which leaves the question open: what parking lot nearby? There are only parking garages (hotels) and the only true parking lot I am aware of is behind the Knights Inn or Travelodge - or whatever it is called. :chuckle:

Unless it is on that lot behind the Miracle Shops and the parking garage way off the strip (for those who know Vegas I am talking about the parking lot where that golf thingy is...MS something).

I guess I am holding off on that trip. I don't want to see a red carpet stage with no action. I want to see the actual draft.

Set against the iconic backdrop of the Strip, the NFL Draft Main Stage will be constructed next to the CAESARS FORUM.

You are on fire today....:hclap:

Quite a walk to the red carpet stage.

I guess they are using that new Caesar's forum where the Ferris wheel is.
I think it is scheduled to open this March.

Looks like the Venetian might be the best place to stay for the draft. I stayed there back in 02. If you want the best steak of your life, go to Del Monicos Steak house and get the aged rib eye.
There are quite a few. Harrah's and Linq are right on the property of the Caesar Forum (where you can stay as well). Ceasar's Palace across the street. Venetian right next door. Mirage across the street. The Flamingo.

I still haven't figured out how they work it with the Bellagio. In the past they announced the draft pick on the stage and the players walked from the green room to that very same stage. Are they now only announcing the pick on stage and they come out at the Bellagio fountain? If they announce the picks and have players come out on the same stage they have to shuttle them to the fountain area afterwards. If they split the announcement and the appearance of the players it kind of takes away from the whole experience.
I think I stay home and watch on TV.

im still kind of confused on the logistics of this. So when do they walk the Bellagio fountain red carpet? Before the draft as they enter the green room? After their selection?

Bally's is only $260 per night and right across the street.

Caesars Forum does not show up on google maps yet but this should help. If you go north from Bellagios and take the first right and then the first left (by the ferris wheel - HIGH ROLLER), it will be in that large parking lot.
