While I don't agree that there are 5 or 6 better than Tua, I think some people might say Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Jackson, Stroud, Herbert, Rodgers and Lawrence are on their list. I also think if any of those qbs were on the market in 2024 they would be asking for and getting as much $$ or more than Tua is seeking. Rodgers' might not get as much because of his age.

In the past 2 seasons Tua's led AFC in passer rating one season and in passing yards another. He's been among the top in completion % in both seasons. He's led his team to the playoffs twice. He's 0-1 in playoff games inwhich he's played and the team he lost to has beaten every team they've faced in the playoffs over the past two seasons. I believe the Chiefs also haven't lost a home playoff game in 5 or 6 years. So Tua getting a loss in that situation really shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Of course Im fine with 42 mil, but i think its a lot more than that! Too early to tell on the college qbs. Need to see this years performance and whos declaring.

Plus - Losing the draft picks it would cost to get that QB would mean less players on their rookie contracts on the roster over that two year period. They would have to be replaced on the 53 with either cheap (bad) players or with expensive free agents, thus still mortgaging your future, just on different players.

Justin Herbert has a passer rating of 84.7 with 273 yards and 1 touchdown in 1 game in the playoffs in his career. He is 0-1. 5 years/$262.5 million.
Trevor Lawrence has a passer rating of 72.1 with 505 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions in 2 games in the playoffs in his career. He is 1-1. 5 years/$275 million.

For the millionth time, the market is the market. Tua IS going to get paid. Everyone just needs to accept it and root like hell for him.

They need to keep moving the goalposts as Tua keeps proving them wrong.

The need to be right in their view that Tua sucks seems to trump all logic now and they grasp at anything rather than look at it logically and realise the Dolphins have a top 10 QB who keeps improving.

Nothing Tua does will ever be good enough for some.
