Get ready.
Grier is definitely having some tums this morning. But, they are the ones who have taken so long. The deal just got more expensive and they can only blame themselves. Tua is not taking less than Lawrence. No way.
Get ready.
Why didn't the Jaguars do that if it's so simple? The QB market is ridiculous. Where does it stop. The Fins are in a no win situation. Damned if you do, damned if you dont. At this point they should just let him play out the season. Franchise tag him next year while moving up and drafting a young QB to eventually take over. That would give them the next 2 years to try and win with Tua without mortgaging the future.
While I don't agree that there are 5 or 6 better than Tua, I think some people might say Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Jackson, Stroud, Herbert, Rodgers and Lawrence are on their list. I also think if any of those qbs were on the market in 2024 they would be asking for and getting as much $$ or more than Tua is seeking. Rodgers' might not get as much because of his age.So everyone wants to pay Tua 50M with stupid guarantees for often injured QB who isn't top tier? Here is the list of the viable QB's in the AFC. Not in any particular order.
In this list I count 5-6 QB's in the AFC alone that I would rather have than Tua. Tell me would any of you really fear Tua if he were on the opposing team?
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes
Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen
Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow
Houston Texans
C.J. Stroud
Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert
Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence
Miami Dolphins
Tua Tagovailoa
Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson
New York Jets
Aaron Rodgers
Yeah, because Mike Florio knows. Come on with that crap.Mike Florio has been saying for weeks that Stephen Ross is not sold on Tua and will not break the bank to re-sign him.
He also lost a playoff game plus didn't get his team back to the playoffs last year. He’s also already won a come from behind playoff game rather than looking sack less in big game opportunities. So there’s that.
He's the only poster that takes Florio at his word.Yeah, because Mike Florio knows. Come on with that crap.
Of course Im fine with 42 mil, but i think its a lot more than that! Too early to tell on the college qbs. Need to see this years performance and whos declaring.Tag next year is $42 million. You okay with that?
What young QB do you want to draft?
Nothing is easy, but thats why they have GMs.Yeah and it's super easy to just nonchalantly move up and take your QB of the future. It hasn't been a problem at all for Miami for a couple of decades.
Plus - Losing the draft picks it would cost to get that QB would mean less players on their rookie contracts on the roster over that two year period. They would have to be replaced on the 53 with either cheap (bad) players or with expensive free agents, thus still mortgaging your future, just on different players.
Hmmn. Maybe they feel differently about Lawrence than Fins do about Tua.Why didn't the Jaguars do that if it's so simple?
Justin Herbert has a passer rating of 84.7 with 273 yards and 1 touchdown in 1 game in the playoffs in his career. He is 0-1. 5 years/$262.5 million.Tua can wait another year screw it. Prove you can win a playoff game and then lets talk. Has choked in every do or die, huge implications game I can think of.
Such a lazy and frankly dumb argument.Lawrence has won a playoff game already. End of comparison and end of conversation
It's amazing what you read on this forum as a reason why Tua shouldn't get paid.Such a lazy and frankly dumb argument.
They need to keep moving the goalposts as Tua keeps proving them wrong. It's amazing what you read on this forum as a reason why Tua shouldn't get paid.
