Ufc 73 - 7/7/07

I don't think Tito is too old, he is just gassing much earlier than he ever has before..Like Firesole said, it seems that come round 3 he is losing it..If he can solve that problem, he can still be a dominant fighter IMO...And on top of that, he can sell a fight better than anyone...

Let me also add that he still hasn't lost to anyone other than Liddell or Couture in 9 years...
he looks uninspired IMO.

You make a good point, he might just not have anything left to fight for...He has more money than he knows what to do with, and he cant seem to get the belt back...

I invision Tito as the Don King of MMA in a couple years...

I saw in one of the interviews Tito did for the countdown to 73, he was saying that he normally trains and fights for 5 round fights,(basically saying he always is fighting for a title) so that Rashad would be overwhelmed because he Tito wasn't going to tire out. :roflmao:

It is pretty amazing that he has only lost to 2 people in 9 years...a total of 3 fights.

Yeah it is a bit odd. Tito is known for claiming he puts cardio first and foremost in his training routine.

He needs to hook up with Sean Sherk so he can really see what cardio is all about. OMG that dude is a beast! I'd like to see a rematch between Sherk and Florian.

Nice to se Huerta in your sig Motion..When I was watching the Sherk fight, and the announcers were asking who in the 155 can fight with the Muscle Shark, all I could think of was "El Matador"...

I predict that fight by the end of the year...

I'd love to see that one!

Wow so they made almost a million dollars alone off the gates. I bet teh PPV numbers are going to be staggering.

It's pretty wierd to see Sean Sherk making so little compared to Anderson Silva. That doesn't seem fair.

what really boggles the mind is that they are paying Herring $70k per fight as the loser and Sherk peanuts in comparison.

Announcements from the post PPV presser:

"Dana said that a rematch between Tito Ortiz and Rashad Evans is likely. Both seemed to want the fight. No word on if it will be an immediate rematch or not, although Ortiz has one fight left on his deal now and can be stingy when it comes time to re-sign.

There was more talk of a B.J. Penn vs. Sean Sherk fight for the UFC Lightweight title, which had been rumored before. As usual that all seems dependant on if Penn will remain at 155 lbs.

Dana White mentioned the possibility of another Nogueira-rematch as he said if Mirko CroCop gets past Cheick Kongo at UFC 75, it will be Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Mirko CroCop II. I like it. "
