Up Next: The Denver Broncos

If the Chiefs defense held him to 66 yards, he must be easy to stop... or something. I'll give you the benefit of a doubt on having a weak game plan for the Chiefs that week that tried to take advantage of their putrid secondary. But 66 whole yards against the Chiefs doesn't strike any Ricky Williams fear in me...

2. Fiedler is not even a solid quarterback

I wholeheartedly believe this one. I've got some respect for Fiedler, but I wouldn't call him a solid quarterback... If he was a solid quarterback, he wouldn't have thrown four picks against the worst secondary in the league... again, losing to the Chiefs is not a good way to get respect, especially from Broncos fans.

3. Our defensive line is soft after losing Gardner, Bromell. and Mixon.

I don't know about any of that, except to say that San Diego has had one of the best rushing defenses to ever play the game, and Portis managed to get 100+ yards on them, which is very, very rare for that defense. There is nothing in the Dolphins defense that makes me believe that Portis can't get off the same kind of yards.

4. We can't handle the altitude and as a result will lose by more than 20.

I don't know about this one... The Chiefs didn't need the altitude in their favor to beat you by almost 20. I can't believe that the altitude difference will be worth another two points to us more than the Chiefs were able to get on you.

I'm looking for a low scoring game... 24-13 Denver

Umm who lost to the Ravens?

... don't get me wrong, I respect your team, but if I had to chose between which team will play better because of the opponent they lost to I'd go with the Dolphins. No I don't think the Ravens are a GOOD team. How do you lose to the stinking Ravens?

Hey... what can we say? Watching the Dolphins lay down for the Chiefs really diminished the respect that most of us had for your team to this point. If you are looking for Broncos message boards where the fans aren't going to be confident that we can stop Ricky Williams (especially after what we just did to LaDanian Tomlinson), good luck.

My take on this game won't be too much different... You guys came out against KC and featured your passing game. As a result, you got behind fast, eliminating the damage that Ricky could do. Well, this Denver defense is going to eliminate what Ricky can do, leaving the same situation... The Dolphins relying on Fiedler to pull this hot coal from the fire. I just don't personally believe that Fiedler can do it. Maybe if he was at home....

I wouldn't say we are taking you lightly. We're just confident. Watching your Dolphins give it away to the Chiefs, who have the absolute worst defense in the league (if not the history of the league), we know that you've got glaring weaknesses. We are confident that our team can exploit them... especially at home.

Kind of like how we have no respect for Denver's D when we watched a Baltimore team that could not score a TD against anyone come out and run the score up at will.

Actually, the Ravens game wasn't about the Defense so much as it was special teams, where we lost our points to them... The Ravens had a couple of good series, but were completely shut out of the endzone in the second half of football... That is hardly scoring at will. I don't think you guys can come in expecting our special teams to make the same mistakes that they made against Baltimore. On the other hand, it's very reasonable to expect that Fiedler will play like Fiedler, especially in the Mile High Environment.

And that's not saying that we'll get four picks off the guy... Maybe just two.

BTW... I'm perfectly fine with you having no respect for the Broncos defense. Perfectly. Fine.

That's the attitude Charger fans had going into the game. After stopping Tomlinson to only 48 yards, they changed their tune pretty quickly.

Wasn't Baltimore beating the Bronco's 34-3 at one point ? And I'm pretty sure they had three offensive TD's at that point that were not scored on special teams. I'm pretty sure also Baltimore had not scored a TD in quite a while till they met you guys.
Also, I like how you compare Tomlinson to Williams. Please.

if I am the Phins I consider this game a parallel to the KC game, i.e. if we do not play great, we will be embarassed. Since this is on national TV, Surtain is playing and we learned that we can suck ag KC, I expect a solid game from the Phins. As of now, Denver looks like our toughest game of the year, but might be a little easier since it is only October.

Hey what up everyone.. Listen the fins will come to play Sunday night, Denver will be tough but after after the shalacking that Baltimore put on them I believe we will do just fine. Suratain will be back and better than ever as we saw this Sunday, good job on his game back.Anyway, I just wanted to hear some thoughts on the line...Broncs by 3 1/2....is anyone else jumpin all over this line besides me?I mean come on now

my big concern will be Ricky's ability to run hard for 60 minutes after all those carries last Sunday. I would expect Edwards to get a series or two even though that is not Norv's style. Can we keep our D off the field without wearing out Ricky - that will be my theme of the game other than the perennial theme which is turnovers, i.e TO on the road = 99.44% chance of lost.

This is beyond stupid! I wish the coaches of the Broncos thought like you. You are going to use 1 game to base your opinon of a team. The Lions looked like SB champs last week, and the Dolphins, BRONCOS, Pats, and Saints looked like chumps. In your mind our the Ravens and Lions the teams to beet?

Yeah we have the worst D in the league. The same D that allowed what 10 points to the Broncos last year. The same D that held both the Colts and Pats to just 13 points this year. The same D that held thge leagues top passing attack to 27 yards in the first half yesterday. I am going to look at the 4 steller games our D has played this year, if you choose to look at the one let down that is your perogative.

I'd say that Oakland is our toughest game.

Taco:

Denver is a very good team. So are the Dolphins. Both teams have shown they can have let downs and games where they play poorly. Are we going to be overconfident because Denver looked awful against Baltimore? No.

Should we think that Fiedler will look like Marino because Redman actually looked like an NFL quarterback against Denver? No.

This is a tough game. But, let me fill you in so you can share it with the rest of your friends:

1. Ricky is not slow. Going into the last week Ricky had more runs over 10 yards than any other back. In the KC game, which is your evidence about how stoppable he is, he was averaging about 5 yards a carry.

2. Fiedler is better than you think. The Dolphins converted over 50 percent of their third downs this week. All three touchdowns were the result of Fiedler making smart decisions and/or great throws on third down.

3. Our poor performance against KC on defense was in large part to the absence of Surtain, who is one of the best cover guys in the league. We held the Patriots (the top passing attack in the league) to 26 yards in the first half. Just a fluke?

Does all of this mean we win? No. But, we are not overmatched by Denver. Even on the road.

Your coach may be an offensive genius, but Norv Turner is no rookie. Norv matched everything that Belichick could come up with and then some.

I respect Denver and their coaches and players. The Dolphins deserve the same respect. But, it might not be until after the game that we'll see it on the "Orangemane"

I can't control what people post. I've got Ricky Williams as a top three back:

1. Tomlinson
2. Williams
3. Holmes

That's my personal feeling on the Runningbacks in this league.

I'm trying to get nervous about this game against the Dolphins... But I keep going back to that KC game... I'm sorry, but it's just hard to respect an offense that played that miserable against such a miserable defense. I've gotta believe that our coaches are finding nuggets of pure gold from that game film. Meanwhile, the best you'll get from looking at film of the Baltimore game is special teams mistakes.

Of course, I believe that the Dolphins will be ready to make a game of it. But if the Broncos go out and do their thing by controlling the ground and forcing Fiedler to win the game, I think we win this thing by two scores (10 pts).

I'm not really trying to start a smack war... But I just don't have a lot of respect for Fiedler with the game on his shoulders. Not that I believe Griese is all that much better than Fiedler... But four INTs against that KC secondary? You guys must not realize just how bad that secondary is...

Our offense still scored 30 points. That's plenty to win. The problem was that KC scored so much our offense kept throwing. Even a lousy secondary is going to get some chances when they know the other team is throwing every down.

That's not our strength and Jay made some bad throws. But our defense lost that game. If you expect our defense to mail it in again like that, you are probably going to be a bit surprised. When Madison and Surtain are healthy, the Phin secondary is vastly better.

This allows the offense to mix the run and pass and Turner has done it to perfection almost all year.

no smack war

But you are bringing the "no substance talk" from your board over here.....I doubt you have even seen a Fins game yet....

I have seen 3 "donkey" games so far..especially the first one in which "mighty" Griese almost got pulled...

lets take some facts:

you beat 49ers in your second game...the 9ers struggled the first two games (barely beating the Giants)....you beat Buffalo by 5 who just got clobbered by your "buddies" from Oakland and lost to Jets (woohoo) and there only wins are two OT wins over the Vikes (woohoo) and the Bears...you also beat St Louis (whoopy) and the Chargers which may become the team which started once at 5-2 just to lose every single game thereafter in that season....and you got clobbered by the Ravens....nothing to write home about.

Granted we haven't had a tougher schedule yet but I doubt that we have to hide from the "donkeys".

I fully expect your defense to mail it in if they get behind... If they didn't have enough pride to stop TrINT Green from scoring 5 TDs, I don't know why Griese can't get 2.

And this bit about Surtain not being there.... Are you telling me that the reason TrINT Green was able to throw 5 TDs and no interceptions was because you were missing ONE PLAYER?
