We have the worst WR corps in the league

The type of WR we need the most right now, is the deep threat (Clyde Gates) wr...he´d automatically open the field for everybody else...The one radical move our Fins could have made, and I wouldn´t have barked, was to aquire Wallace from Pitt...exactly what we need to stretch the field, and unlike next year´s best WRs, he´s a proven commodity!!

Bess can play #2, and could do it pretty well for many teams. With 2nd rate Qbs, Hartine has been the best receiver on Miami for yards after catch, if Chad can be even half the receiver he was in Cincy, he is a quality #2. Chad did not get many balls because the QB was Brady, and as far as he is concerned, Chad needs Tom, not the other way around, and because Chad had so many problems with thier offense, Tom rarely looked for him, whether he got open or not.
I'm not sure where that myth came from but Hartline was the worst on this team last year in terms of YAC. He rarely stays on his feet after he catches the ball. As I posted in another thread (the number next to the name is their overall league ranking in YAC):

Reggie Bush #45 with 321 yards of YAC (on 43 receptions...7.47 yards per catch average)
Brandon Marshall #47 with 319 yards of YAC (on 81 receptions...3.94 yards per catch average)
Davone Bess #87 with 226 yards of YAC (on 51 receptions...4.43 yards per catch average)
Anthony Fasano #184 with 111 yards of YAC (on 32 receptions...3.47 yards per catch average)
Charles Clay #215 with 84 yards of YAC (on 16 receptions...5.25 yards per catch average)
Brian Hartline #219 with 81 yards of YAC (on 35 receptions...2.31 yards per catch average)
Daniel Thomas #241 with 67 yards of YAC (on 12 receptions...5.58 yards per catch average)
Clyde Gates #441 with 0 yards of YAC (on 2 receptions...0.00 yards per catch average)

I would prefer having three #1 WRs like Green Bay has...although Driver is a bit past his prime and would be more of a #2 right now but Jennings and Nelson can start for any team and Driver can still start for at least a third of the teams in this league. So if by "good" receivers you mean Jennings and Nelson then yes I agree.

By the way, that is exactly my line of thinking as far as the Packers receiver. Even though I don't really think of Jennings and Nelson as Elite, they are Alpha receivers, and each could be #1 receivers on other teams. Driver has been a good receiver for the Packer, but at his age, he would have a tough time drawing extra attention from other teams unless he was on a really bad receiving team (Of which Miami is not one of them <- for those that will reply with the Miami Dolphins answer).

Meant yards per catch avg, sorry about that. He had 15.7 last year, and I believe he was tops a couple of years back also.

The problem, IMO,was that these same issues existed before free agency too, and could have been addressed there somewhat but were not.

Okay, I'll bite. How so? Which opportunities were missed? Taking Jon Martin instead of the Georgia Tech receiver. Yes. That's one I'll give you, they simply saw more value from Martin.

Not even deniable at this point. Going to be vomit inducing watching these scrubs with a scrub QB throwing to them.

Thumbs down for all negative opinions.

Since you seem to be so great at predicting the future with these receivers in a new offense, care to tell us tonight's Mega Million numbers?

Seriously, I understand on paper these receivers may not be a formidable bunch, but can we at least see what they bring to the table for a few games before anointing them "worse in the league" or "vomit inducing"?! These guys haven't even played one damn down for Philbin/Sherman's new offense. Let them earn those labels on the field before we cast them as failures 2 and a half months before the season starts. My goodness.

Lets get through an entire training camp before we through all 12 recievers under the bus. The last time we won the division I believe we had Greg C, Devon Bess, Ted Ginn and Brian Hartline as our top recievers so take some solace it can be done.

To make things worse, Hartline actually wasn't on the 2008 team, he came in the 2009 draft. The 2008 WR group was led by Camarillo, Bess, Ginn, London and Wilford. I am not sure how this years group can look worse than that group.

lol @ all these people talking about "we dont need a #1 WR"

uh guys we don't even have a #2 WR lol.

i think that argument could be made...a lot of #3 and #4 wrs on this roster right now...need some guys to step it up...lot of guys that i don't think even would make a roster if they were in a lot of camps this year also...plenty of opportunity here that's for sure

I would have rather seen us take a WR in the first and not taken Tanny. I just don't see Tanny as ever being a franchise QB. Hopefully I'm wrong.
