The Jets run is just beginning, we have a young core and I am nto sure any team has ever made back to back title games w/ a 1st and 2nd yr QB. Be prepared for this team to be a title contender for a long time to come.
How did we suffer w/ no home playoff games? You automatically assume we win home playoff games, NE and Atl had 1 seeds w/ byes last year and didn't win at home.
Pay attention and you can keep learning.
WC plays and reverses/end arounds are not part of the ground game- they are trick plays.
Oh, I see, so when they put the stats for wildcat and flee flickers/reverses, they put that in the trick play
category.....got it.
The 2 RBs on each team were the primary ballcarriers for our teams.
Polite had 26 carries and I'm sure 99% were in 3rd and short so that will skew a YPC and he was your 3rd leading carrier.
For us McKnight had 39 carries and was our 3rd leading carrier, 32 were in the meaningless week 17 game where Sanchez played a series and our backups dominated Buffalo.
OK, it's very obvious that you did not watch any Miami Dolphins game, and as much as you want to act as if you know what your talking about, you only have half the info.
Listen, I agree with you, normally Miami's running game and O-line is as good or beter then your Jets, but because of injuries, it was not. I watched both teams last year, Jets were running more naturally, they were getting more big runs then Miami, they were getting more 4 yards or better then Miami. Yes Polite was used, and becasue Miami could not run, he did not have as good a year as he had done years past....he was stopped for 0 yards many times. Miami was way more in effective using the WC and reverses because they could not run.
The Jets had 5 guys ran for 100 yards or more, the Dolphins just 2. The The Jets ran close to 100 times more then the Dolphins, a Dolphins team that had Henning as their OC, who loves to run the ball, yet he did not run it quite as much, why? Because the run was not working.
Considering you are so lost on what really happened last year with our running games, maybe you should check each week how both teams did running the ball, and see for yourself that almost every week, the Jets ran better....but don't worry yourself, I expect Miami to be as good running the ball this year as the Jets.
All the stats should lead you to the same conclusion, the Jets ran for many more yards, more attempts, much better average, more 1st downs on running plays, twice as many runs for 20+ yards, 19 more 1st downs on the ground, more TDs running the ball. The Jets did have a better running game last year, and it helped Sanchez bigtime.
Stop being so hardheaded and admit the truth. :err:
