The first time we went to watch the sunrise on the mountain it was in March. The previous day it had been in the 80’s by the water and I didn’t even think about how cold it would be on the mountain. We got to the top at around 4:45 am and I was in shorts and a polo shirt. I stepped out of the car and I thought we had been transported to Alaska. It was 29 degrees and the wind was blowing at least 15 miles an hour.I plan on taking the wife back, hopefully, sooner than later. I found it amazing how cold it is in the morning on top, it was freezing. Not something you would normally associate with Hawaii. If I'm correct, I believe it's the steepest descent from 10,000 feet to sea level in the world. By the time we got back down the mountain, as I'm sure you're well aware, the temperature had risen by about 50 degrees. I found it amusing stopping at intervals on the way down to shed layers. I remember a restaurant midway down built on the side of the mountain overlooking the island, we stopped and ate there, the view was awesome.
Who doesn't like pie? I ate in a few restaurants that fit that description. When the locals said go here, we were reluctant to go inside a few of them but we were always pleasantly surprised by the food and atmosphere. From that point on we listened to them, they never recommended a bad place, I'm not sure there is one on the island. LOL
I've been to Oahu (too commercialized) and Kona (pretty barren) I liked them both but fell in love with Maui. I thought the active lava flows were pretty neat on Kona, and of course, we visited the Thurston Lava Tube. My favorite was the black sand beach. I also like traveling the road to Hana, no other ride like it in the world. Even stopped a few times to walk and explore the rainforest. Lots of hidden waterfalls and swimming holes off the beaten pathway. After talking about it, I'm really getting the itch to go!
I was just down in LB. My sister lives across from Rosie's Dog Beach.36 from Ca no idea how i became a phin fan but I'm here thick and thin.
Vivid memories of crying after the loss to Washington. Then again after losing to the Seahawks in the ‘83 playoffs. Then getting revenge against them in the ‘84 playoffs. Then crying again during the loss to the 49ers. Meanwhile, looking back, I’d give my left arm to have that success again. Or maybe my left pinky toe. I don’t want to get too crazy.49 and fan since I discovered the sport at around 6 or 7 years old, so more than 40 years bleeding aqua proudly.
I have done my job as a fan, since somehow manage to make my 14 yers old son a super die hard dolfan. Fortunate enough to watch the fins play live quite some times, with the Miami miracle included.
Since I was born in 71, I have never seeing my team as Champions, needless to say I did cry like baby in the two SB loses, but looking back, those were good times to be a Dolphins fan.
29 (for 10 and a half more hours). Been a fan since 2000
I’m absolutely shocked as to how many people age 40 50 60 70 are on here! I seriously always assume it’s 20 year olds.
I am 33 and have been a fan for almost 30 years- it started young around 4 or 5 ( fish and colors ) and being a dolphins fan brings with it some of my first memories. I met Dan Marino when I was 9 - my dad who didn’t know anything about sports brought me to get an autograph from him at one of those big football conventions with all the players signing etc, and vendors . I was a huge fan for years by then. Randy moss was still in college. Rip dad !!
My brain says I am still the same young buck I was 50 years ago. Unfortunately my body has other ideas .
I had no idea most of you were so oooolllllld.
