    Couple questions.
Who does your significant other root for?
If it's another team how much does it effect your relationship.
My ex-wife was a Bills fan and she really only like to root for them because I was a Dolphins fan. Although we live in Buffalo she was never really into sports. However I think she enjoyed slamming me in the early 90's when the Bills went to 4 Superbowls in a row.
We had a few fights but nothing that was serious. I just hated that she became a football fan to root against me.

    The end of the season.

This saves wear and tear on the house.

Alcohol bill drops considerably as well.

Loosely roots for the Seahawks mostly because we want to settle down in Seattle, but besides Marshawn Lynch (who as we all know plays for the Raiders) she couldn't name a single player on their team.

Wife WAS a Raiders fan because she grew up in that area. Thanks to the Vegas move she is now a Dolphins fan with me.

Wife didn’t really care about NFL before me so she “roots” for Miami, primarily for my mood.

Wife is a huge Packers fan, grew up in Wisconsin, owns shares of the team, etc etc. So naturally I’ve been to several Packers games and only a handful of Fins games.

But when we play the Pack in November, I’ll be there sporting aqua and orange just to piss her off.

This is my wife as well. Like last year when we went to the Mia/Atl game and Miami won, my wife was glad Miami won; because as she put it, the drive home was sooo much better than what it would've been had we lost.

A mix of the above responses - Miami for my mood, but mostly for the end of the football season. Having said that, when we were on Hard Knocks she really got into the show and that was fun. Even she could tell Philbin was an uninspiring fraud. Ha!

We're a Phins household because of me, though her family roots for the [local] 49ers. She's had a few run-ins with various NFL players in her job and tends to root against those individuals lol.

Panthers, cause we are near Charlotte, but after we got married she started pulling for the dolphins somewhat. even though for the most part she is clueless about football and our first year of marriage was hell trying to watch games together. luckily I got her trained up for the most part, or she just knows that asking me a million questions during the games make me drink faster

She really isn't a fan of any team, and has no idea about anything that has to do with football but she doesn't care if I disappear for 4 hours on game day so it all works out perfectly.

This is mine as well, but she has gotten in to it. Before me the only football player she knew was Warren Moon. Now she is in our fantasy league, has been to a few games, and kind of know what is going on.

We went to the hall of fame, and Lawerence Taylor came up, and she shock his hand. She ran back to me all excited, and exclaimed, “I just met LT, I just met LT.” I asked if she knew who that was, and she replied, “I habe no idea.” I think that spirit is why we are getting married in 2 weeks.

She didn't know much about football till she met me so she roots for The Dolphins. She has learn a lot over the years with me about football. She likes college football too thought she only roots for whichever team I'm rooting for. I'll keep her.

My wife is definitely a daddy's girl. They both followed the New York football Giants. But as a caveat, she along with my daughter's, despises New England! My oldest daughter likes Philadelphia (for over 10 years now), and the younger one follows the Giants with her mom.

Buffalo! My wife grew up in Orchard Park, NY and her family were season ticket holders of the Bills for over 20 years. She relocated to Fl (where we met) and will wear Dolphins gear (see avatar) unless we play the Bills. We went to the 2006 Mia @ Buf game together and it was the worst experience of my life, I will never go again!

When my wife and I got engaged in 2002, she decided to abandon the Giants and root for the Dolphins.

She is not particularly knowledgable or passionate about football. Her reasoning at the time was that "The Giants haven't done much recently anyway." I informed her that they were in the Super Bowl the year before, and she shrugged it off.

The Dolphins haven't won a playoff game since.

    I apologize.

The good news is that Goat Jr. is about at the age (12) when I really started to follow the Fins closely. Maybe he'll turn our luck around.

My wife is not a sports person but supports the Dolphins for me. She went to Michigan so I support Michigan as a trade off. She wears Dolphins gear and especially likes going to games. She doesn’t understand more than basics.

But I have a rule of thumb that if she sees something, like a problem with personnel or strategy, then it’s obvious!

She also understands how draft weekend goes. Lol.

She loves to quote me from when we were dating. I told her, “I love, love, LOVE the Dolphins.” She throws that back at me regularly with a laugh.

She likes the fn pats. We go to the Fins pats game in Miami most years. At least I’ve seen them win there most of the time.

All that matters though is my daughter is a Fins fan.
