Each of the remaining candidates have different backgrounds and a pool of coaches to draw from in their history. Since they all don't have offensive backgrounds, the OC hire will be critical.

Which coaches out there are available for this position? Which would you target?

Also, which do you think each candidate will likely bring in? (Richard/Flores/Rizzi)

I think that if the Dolphins hire Kris Richard, Darrell Bevell could be in the cards. He's a guy who will be loved or hated, but I think overall he did a good job in Seattle.

At times he was criticized for running a 'high school' offense, and I agree it was maddening to watch at times, but his philosophy was simple. He had a great young quarterback he was tasked with developing to pair with a great defense. The assets he had to work with were a couple of good receivers (Baldwin and Tate) and one hell of a power running back. He was consistently given crap for an OL to work with. His solution was to run a vertical passing offense off of play action, take advantage of his quarterback's best attributes (lots of bootlegs) and run the hell out of the football. Seattle ran the ball more than any other team in the NFL with Bevell at the helm of the offense.

If we are planning to reload our team with young talent and go into 2019 with this trash can interior OL, and especially if the stars align for Miami to draft Kyler Murray, then I think Bevell might be the best choice available. We don't have a Marshawn Lynch, but we can bring back Frank Gore and try to find a power back to take the load off of him. The formula is there and he's already done it.

(I think j-off probably wants to kill me in my sleep right now. I'm sorry.)

Its not going to be some crazy accomplished guy likely. I am also very interested in who is the OLINE coach. I am so ****ing sick of seeing us field pathetic ass olines.

I would actully like to see Bieniemy get a shot. He might be interested since he would be calling plays and I love Andy Ried's offense, especially for our personnel.

Richard I’d be interested in Darrell bevell. Think he got a bad wrap in Seattle

I don’t want Marquand manuel but evidently there’s potential for that as the dc

I believe Darrell Bevell got hired by the Jaguars already.

Well Bevell looks like he may be getting hired Jacksonville so he would likely be out. I know Boomer posted a couple assistants that are with the Seahawks... Canales and McPherson as potential OCs

Jaguars haven't signed him yet. He was interviewed.

I was curious to see what Seattle fans think of Bevell and I've done a bit of reading and it seems like Seattle fans really didn't think much of him. I've seen a lot of Seahawks fans putting the success of the Seattle run game down to Tom Cable.

I do not like Bevel. I think he is poor.

But @SkapePhin asked a question of who should Richard target for OC. To decide that one, we need to figure out a list of who might be interested.

Typically veteran coaches prefer not to be under younger head coaches, particularly when it is more than 5 years difference. Also, they want a person with whom they are familiar or who comes well recommended by someone with whom they are familiar, so they know their personalities will mesh and their football philosophies will work together. Seldom do coaches want to make lateral moves, and usually they want a promotion to move unless they're out of work. Those things really limit the list. Not sure of who all would be on that list, but I have to imagine that it would be less than 10 or so people.

Before throwing out names we have no chance of getting, it would be nice if people could suggest people who might fit those criteria and are worth considering. Then we can discuss among that list. Just a thought.

Whoever the hell is under that coaches up there in Chicago or out west with the Rams. Those two have put on the two better offensive play calling i've seen last year and this year.
