Reality Check JETS fans....

so let me get this straight.

a kc team that finished 10-6 and won their division, and you can argue how they played in an easy division, but still i believe they lost 4 division games, so most their wins came out of their division. so anyways, they didnt belong, but a jet team in 2009 who was 7-7 entering the final 2 weeks of the season, a team in which their own head coach said they were done after the falcon game, gets to play 2 teams that were playing dead, and you can say whatever you want how we played dead teams in 08 etc,but the teams the jets were playing actually showed a dead team, not trying, etc, yet those jets belong in the playoffs?

So you don't think peyton and company were trying for 2 1/2 qtrs? it was a 15-10 game at that point.

KC nbeat one playoff bound team- the 7-9 Seahawks.

KC got thrashed at home, weren't even competitive in the WC rd. The Jets won TWO ROAD playoff games.

unlike KC '10 and Mia '08 the '09 Jets proved they belonged.

Sure they were trying for 2 quarters. It was a 9-3 Colts lead at the half. The Jets got back in the game with a kick off return for a TD. Manning came back in for 1 drive and they scored a TD giving them the 15-10 lead. Then they quit. Painter came in and on his first pass attempt, gives the Jets 7. At that point, not just Manning, but all of the starters were out. If you truly believe the Jets would have beat the Colts had Manning stayed in the game, you are delusional. The Jets were given their playoff spot in 09.

Unlike the Jets, the Dolphins and KC had to face Bal in the 1st round. We saw how well the Jets did against them a couple of weeks ago.

so you are comparing Bal at Bal 2 weeks ago to them in the '08 and '10 playoffs? why not compare the 1 pt loss last year? why not compare us playing better games against the Colts in the '09 playoffs and Pitt in '10 playoffs?

we beat the 2 hottest teams in the NFL in '09 & '10 on the road in the div rd.

Because it was last year, and was the first game of the season. Why does it really matter? A loss is a loss. Had the Jets faced Bal in 09 or 10, the results would have been the same.

the jets proved ****.

i don't care that they won 2 games in the playoffs, any NFL team if given the chance can string together a few wins in a row. they beat a pretty average at best Bengal team, and they beat a good charger team, then got it handed to them by the colts.

saying they deserved it because they won 2 games in the playoffs is retarded. hey, lets put the dolphins in the playoffs this year regardless of record, maybe they can win a game or two in the playoffs, does that mean they would deserve it?

Schottenheimer is a good OC, he's just the scapegoat w/ the O struggling. Just like Henning was the scapegoat for Miami.

 Schotty's a "scapegoat" for whom, exactly? In order to be a "scapegoat", there's got to be somebody/something else that's to blame for the Jests offensive suckitude.

It must be that sucky OL with 2 Pro Bowlers on it that hasn't run blocked very well and can't protect the QB, either, right?

Maybe it's the veteran WRs who keep dropping passes and forgetting to drag their toes?

Maybe it's that high-priced "franchise QB" who's a turn over machine?

Maybe the Jests just have crappy RBs and TEs ...

How does a team that pretends to be a playoff contender manage to put up fewer than 200 passing yards against the worst pass defense in the league while failing to run for big yards either? The Jests had 8 -- count 'em, 8!!! -- three and outs against the Patsies!!! They went almost the entire first quarter without getting a first down.

Having watched way too much of the awful offenses the Bills fielded during the Jauron era, I can say that the Jests resemble those Bills teams on offense. They suck, and it's the coaching not the talent. If Schotty is being given a free hand with the offense, then he needs to go because he's the problem not a "scapegoat".

If Schotty is being told by Jabba the Jest what kind of offense to run, then the Jests are going to continue to suck on offense -- and lose more than they win -- until Jabba departs. In case you didn't notice, your D is simply not good enough to regularly hold today's high-powered offenses to a couple of FGs.

I just can't wait till the Dolphins roll into the Meadowlands on Monday night and we kick the crap out of them. It seems like every year all they do is talk about how we are not that good and we continue to make deep playoff runs while they continue to do nothing but spin their wheels.

How's the "Trifecta" looking for you guys btw?

Oh, wow, the Jests can't beat decent teams so they're gonna prove their collective manhood by beating up on another winless team without a real starting QB! You, go Jests! That'll get y'all some respect around the league! :sidelol:

That's like saying b/c NE beat us 45-3 last reg season that we had no shot against them in postseason- how did that work out again?

the jets proved ****.

2 straight title game apps, beating the hottest teams in the league in the div rd each year, winning 4 road playoff games- that didn't prove the Jets belonged? Ok, I guess getting thrshed by baltimore proved Miami and KC belonged:lol:

He deserves some of the blame but whiny fans always blame the OC when offensies struggle, I tend to blame lack of execution.

Did you notice one of those pro bowlers(the best C in the game) has missed most of the season?

I understand it's been a long time since Buf was even over .500 this late in the year but relax. It's a long season, we didn't look like a playoff team parts of the last 2 years but we made it and made deep runs.

It's not the same at all. The Jets seem to split with the Pats every year, just like the Dolphins have. When was the last time the Jets beat Bal? The point is facing Bal in the first round is very, very different than facing the Bengals, or a banged up Colts team.

The last time we beat the pats in NE w/ Brady starting was 2006 and we had onyl beaten them there twice.

Cincy swept Baltimore in 2009, the banged up Colts were on a long win streak. No more excuses please.

That just shows that division teams match up well with each other. It's not an excuse, it's the facts. That 2009 Bal team that got swept by Cincy gave NE a 33 to 14 butt kicking in NE. I don't believe the Jets could have beaten Bal, had they faced them in round 1 either of the last 2 years.

That 4 game win streak the banged up Colts were on was against the 6-10 Titans, 8-8 Raiders, 8-8 Jaguars, and 6-10 Titans.

Bal wasn't really compeitive w/ Indy in the '09 playoffs and we had a 2nd half lead.

The bottom line is Mia '08 and KC '10 took advantage of some incredibly weak scheds then when they played at home in the playoffs they got thrashed.

they also only lost at NE by 3 and could have won late if not for a typical Manning choke job.

Just like NE in 09? Bal has blown out the last 3 opponents in the first round in the last 3 years, and the NYJ would not have been any different.

It is great that the Jets had a half time lead against the Colts, but games are 4 quarters. A 17 point loss is not a lot different to me than a 13 point loss.

They also got blown out by the Chargers (who didn't make the playoffs) 33 to 16 the very next week. The week after that, they also lost to a 6-10 Dallas team in OT.

Of course we would have been different.

We were competitive against Indy, Bal wasn't.

in 2009 the favorite heading into postseason in the AFC was SD, we beat them in SD in the div rd
in 2010 the favorite heading into the postseason in the AFC was NE, we beat them in NE in the div rd
