Signing both Mike Wallace & Greg Jennings/The Pat Riley effect

It was actually a greater change than that. The 25/1 was posted with some knowledge that the Heat might thrive in the free agent market. With Wade alone, it would have been tighter to 75/1.

If the Dolphins sign Jennings and Wallace, I suppose some joints would lower Miami from 50/1 to 40/1. Primarily due to sheer boredom, a determination to lower odds under any excuse, and the tendencies of casino managers to overreact.

Let's see, I'm trying to envision a gathering of Tannehill, Wallace and Jennings onstage, with lights and cameras and pronouncement of forthcoming titles...

equating signing Wallace and Jennings to Lebron is beyond silly. I mean would we be signing the best wr in the league with either guy. Now if we were talking Andre johnson or calvin Johnson maybe closer to it.
Hell we had a guy better than either we traded him(Jennings or Wallace)

I couldn't disagree more. I'd take Mike Wallace OR Greg Jennings over Brandon Marshall all day, every day. I understand that he might have mental illness, but we've all been around people who are cancers. You're at the pro bowl and you're talking about how nice it is to play with a "real" qb? Gtfo. Grow up.

I can't make a tangible connection, but it seems both he and Cutler are coach killers. And they effectively "killed" Lovie Smith's tenure in Chicago.

Of course Marshall sucks because he is not in Miami anymore lol. He is still a better wr than either of these guys even with the mythological stuff surrounding him. Marshall did nothing to get Smith fired but play his ass off . smith got fired because he did not deliever on expectations. Marshall exceeded expectations

Also Im not a Marshall fan believe we should have never traded for him and Boldin was the better option always said that

Nobody said Marshall sucks. I said i'm glad he's no longer on my team. For such an amazing talent, it's amazing how mediocre his teams end up being. We did more through the air without his talent then we did with him. Good riddance.

And Jennings might not be the physical talent that Marshall is, but Mike Wallace is, and he's not a head case, which is a plus.

we basically did the same in the air and thats with a more pass oriented philosophy. Its silly to think that with Marshall here in this offensive scheme that we would not have had a better year throwing the ball with three good options compared to two. A wide receiver does not guarantee a team wins. Reggie wayne is a helluva receiver but his presence did not keep Indy from going total tank last year. Calvin johnson is a monster and best receiver in the nfl and yet his team did squat. Jennings is not close to what he was and Wallace for all his hype was nothing special last year
 
I'm really worried about both of these guys being damaged goods. Jennings turns 30 this year, got hurt during the season and has generally seen a diminished role in Green Bay's offense. Wallace had a frustrating year in Pittsburgh and if he's going to be a work ethic/character concern down the road, I don't think we're the organization that would be the best fit to turn him around. If Pittsburgh doesn't want to put up with his crap, that's a troubling sign.

I'm opposed to most free agent splashes in general, but both of these scream dangerous.

Well I guess common sense in FH is over rated.

Like another poster put it. Fasano is like a fridge running routes. He's neither explosive or a playmaker. He's just a guy who matters 2 or 3 times a year.

Your response as simple minded as it is, is quite common. Its the same BS I heard when I advocated the replacement and upgrade of Channing Chowder. I heard from people like you, how his 100 tackles will be missed. How he got the defense lined up. How much he mattered at the little things. Where is that guy now? Where are his defenders? Well that guy is on radio and his defenders are in the 'common sense' crowd concering Fasano.

The common sense thing to do, and Ireland said as much, you upgrade the TE position.

Channing Crowder didn't retire because he lacked offers to come back. He was a free agent, took a year off because his first kid was being born, and then during that year off he started doing radio and liked it so much he decided he didn't want to come back to football. He lost his desire to play anymore. It happens.

You can re-sign Anthony Fasano if you like, but the cost is going to stretch right to the edge of his worth if not overstep it completely. I have no issue with letting him depart and then seeing if you can do better with someone else.

The fact remains Chowder is no longer in the NFL. And the fact he got offers don't mean squat. When you have the CLE's, MIA's and OAK's of the NFL, such absurdity is bound to happen.

In the end, MIA did upgrade. All I'm advocating, is upgrade TE for this young kid. Give him someone dynamic. Thats all. Nothing more, nothing less.
