like that really worked last year...

:rolleyes2 Saban, pending this signing, will have brought in 3 DBs that he feels are coachable and fit his system and the type of scheme he wants to play.

You dont have to be Ty Law or Charles Woodson to be a good signing.

So you think Will Allen will likely be a Fin then? Any other stories PFT has broken?

The big stories that they beat the big boys:
Chad Johnson fight during the playoffs
Moss trade to Oakland
Vince Young Wonderlic score

In the CJ ordeal, they were heavily criticized and slandered by many other outlets. Funny enough, Moss' agent e-mailed them telling PFT that they were nuts and that there was no way Oakland was trying to trade (apparently Mike Florio found out later that he was sincere - it wasn't just a bluff lol).

i like him at cb but we need to draft one more or sign one more guy for some depth there in case he dosent work out. i think he does have the talent to get it done for us and hes still young and a good cover corner.

Our DB's will be much better this year, even without Tebucky and Madison. Reggie Howard is gone and Saban is bringing in coachable guys that can get the job done. His type of players.

We'll be fine.

He'll definately draft a DB in the first round. Unless a great offensive lineman is available, you can count on that. We'll be good to go in the D backfield.

If we get Will Allen, you can bet Saban will get the most of him. And if not, Allen's done in the NFL.

I dont really see why some of you are acting as if this is a huge risk, or a last chance for Will Allen- he has basically been a starter in this league since his rookie season, and its really on his INT numbers that are troubling. That can improve with coaching and confidence. He has had success as a cover corner who can support the run and be consistently solid. So, all of us saying "its worth a shot for cheap" or "this is his last chance in the league"- I dont know where you are getting this. You are underrating the guy.

With all these cbs coming here this offseason , it makes me wonder if Saban has already decided to maybe take Chad Jackson or Moss or maybe Holmes with the 1st pick. I mean as it stands now will the addition of Allen if he signs, the phins would have Daniels, Poole, Bell, Goodman, Hill,Thomas and Jackson and newly signed Shabazz..thats a tons of depth to have. I think it would be great to get a Jimmy Williams, Huff, Cromartie, or even Tye Hill but i have thought about this a lot and come to think that our secondary seems to be set. Adding a quivk Wr would be great esepcially with culpepper's arm, watching him on espn this morning just made me excited about the upcoming year.

Living in New Jersey with a lot of Giants fans (along with Jets, Steelers, and Eagles) from every Giant fan I hear from... I have heard the same thing from all of them, "STAY AWAY". They're very happy to have acquired Madison and McQuarters and couldn't be more happy that Will Allen is gone.

Yeah, I've told him how struggled last season until he got on a bit of a hot streak at the end... although, with being said... I wish we had kept Madison. :(

like i said i live here and have watchesd him hes a good corner with amazing speed and great upside who can tackle he jus doesnt intercept passes but daniels didnt eiter so wo cares

Allen is younger, faster and a better tackler.

I was thinking the same thing about Saban possibly taking a WR in the 1st round, or maybe even drafting an OT if we dont sign Ashworth or any other FAs...we all know WR isnt a need, but as you mentioned, more speed at WR would be a big help with Culpepper and his big arm... all the depth we are signing in the secondary will help in case someone gets injured, and will allow competition for starting jobs to take place raising some guys above their normal level of play...not to mention that many of the secondary guys are versatile enough to play multiple positions...
