Arraignment Set For McMichael

From some of the posts on this thread, you can see why professional athletes and other celebrities "beat" raps. For a "hero" or a "star", there are a remarkable number of people willing to believe said celeb couldn't possibly have done what star was accused of doing, be it OJ, Michael Jackson or McMichael, because, well, just because ....

This being his second arrest, I'd say that McMichael needs a serious wake up call. Spousal abusive often escalates from beatings to murder.

His wife also needs one. She needs to leave.

There are also people who equate two incidents where one he was the victim as being equal to molesting children and killing his wife.

Saying spousal abuse "often" escalates to murder is way over the top. It does happen, and it absolutely is a concern. The rate isn't really *that* high, though.

That said, Randy would do well to remember Fred Lane and correct this situation just in case.

nice job trying to twist someones words. he didn't say that at all..

Its unbelievable how many of you all have your head in the sand. How would you feel if it was your mother getting beaten? Or your sister? I bet alot of you would change your tune if that was the case.

It is like saying Marajuana use "often" escalates to heroin use, speeding often escalates to drunk driving or watching pornography leads to rape.

Yes he did. He did what so many people do in this situation. Take something and then compare it to something far worse. Like people who say that strip clubs attract pedophiles or legalized gambling promotes domestic violence.

My mother was beaten. She was knocked the eff out by a man. Saying that McMichael is a wife beater is insulting to me because I have seen a wife being beaten.

Edit: She was also pregnant at the time when she was knocked out.

Kinzua (and the general public and legal system) also don't put any heat or disgust toward the thousands of women each year that falsely accuse men of certain situations just to get back at them, make a name for themselves, and/or collect $$$.

But then again, you are a jerk in society (me in this case) for bringing up that side of things

I am just hoping that this doesn't become too much of a distraction for McMichael this season and I'm hoping it doesn't become a distraction for the Dolphins as well. I honestly think it would be best if this was taken care of as soon as possible but whatever happens, happens. I'm not going to judge or label Randy as being guilty or not guilty because none of us can honestly say that they know for sure and we don't even know the whole situation... I just hope it's not too much of a distraction and I wish him and his wife the best and hope things get better and stay that way and this could be forgotten.

So if OJ got charged with a murder tommorrow, you wouldn't suspect he probably did it ? Or if Michael Jackson got yet another child molestation case ?
"that's just ignorant" :peebs:

If you're bringing this up as a possibility in the McMichael case, you could be called a jerk. As somebody mentioned already, we have a witness this time around. We also have sufficient evidence from the last time to suggest there was no false accusation issue. There is definitely *something* going on in the relationship.

If you meant it more generally, you're no jerk. False accusations happen just as they do for just about any crime. They absolutely suck. I will say it is important to not treat the majority of reporters who are real victims as if they are evil because of this minority of people who abuse the system, though.

He could plead guilty on the 8th. I rather doubt he would, but it is possible.

Yeah, that's true. Didn't think about that.

I meant it generally. As a point that people will 95% of the time jump automatically down the guys throat no matter what the circumstances.

post #2 and #18 easily imply randy definitely hit her.

BTW, randy didn't hit her, a piece of cardboard did, and that's on the record.
