Bill Lazor Fired

Ineffectively, given his salary.....

He is on pace for 41 catches and 463 yards.

BTW, the "taking the top off of the defense" comment was a joke aimed at that crowd that was supporting that clown last season.

Has Stills had the same impact?

You really don't know what you are talking about. Turner is all about taking shots down the field. He was the offensive coordinator of the Jimmy Johnson Cowbows who threw it deep all the time and he was in San Diego with Philip Rivers who threw it deep all the time, and even when he was with the Redskins and he had Gus Frerotte they threw it deep.
First you want to blame Tannehill for his failure to hit Wallace deep and now you are blaming Bridgewater. Maybe Wallace isn't that good and all he can do is run fast. Tannehill has had no trouble hooking up on deep throws with any of his receivers this season.

Turners offense now is considered a vertical one? Seriously?

If Wallace is the issue. Why was he productive in PITT?

Wallaces most yards on a catch is 22 yards, he has 1 catch for over 20 yards. ONE. Bridgewater has 26 over 20 and 5 over 40...so out of 31 plays over 20, wallace has contributed 1. Wallace sucks. Hes the problem. Stefan diggs has 12 catches over 20. Wallace is the problem. Just like he was here on deep balls.

And yet he had a history of production before MIA and MINN. So much so, PITT offered him a extension.

Wallace benefited from Ben extending plays and him breaking off routes and going deep.

Because Big Ben is one of the best QBs in history at extending plays and turning a play into playground football, making Wallace not have to do things like run good routes or be in the right place at the right time (timing routes). Either way, it's not like he has prime Randy Moss in Pitt, he averaged 8 TDs in Pitt and 7.5 here.

There's one common denominator there and his name is Big Ben. One of the best deep ball throwers in the league.

Has Stills had the same impact?

Same impact as what?

Stills has been a better deep threat than Wallace in Miami and Wallace in Minn, as demonstrated by his 17 YPC. Landry and Matthews have replaced Wallace and Hartline and have been more effective even as the offense has been figured out by opposing DCs.

Look up "Air Coryell".

The Coryell offense is a combination of deep and mid range passing and power running.

Today the most famous and successful advocates of this system are Norv Turner, Mike Martz, Tom Moore and Al Saunders.

Before anyone thinks we can run that style....

Pass protection is critical to success because at least two of the five receivers will run a deep in, skinny post, comeback, speed out, or shallow cross.

If Wallace is the issue. Why was he productive in PITT?

Why did his productivity drop in Pitt? Why are his career highs in receptions and TDs (tied) from his time in Miami?

We need to play the jets more often. Joe fired after that game, Lazor after this one. We remain bi-polar. happy Lazor is gone, wtf moment when Zac Taylor announced to replace him.

I'm sure the Jets feel the same way....

It is obvious that he doesn't have a clue what Turner's offense is about.

Wallace was productive here, last yr he had 67 catches with 862 yds and 10 TD, we have yet to replace those numbers.....Landry had 84 catches last yr with 758 and 5 TD this yr about the same with 76-816-4 through 11 games, so Landry duplicated his numbers and no one picked up Wallaces numbers....we were a much better offense with Wallace on the roster

ha I just found this out...great news

I don't see how this team can change the way it goes about things on offense in 5 weeks though

I love that we are going to learn more about the offensive players and more about Zac Taylor. Before Philbin left, we wondered if his impact was the problem. He definitely contributed to our struggles, but it is now clear that Lazor's play calling contributed to Philbin being fired. His playing calling has hurt people's opinion of Coach Campbell.

I do not expect big changes, but I do expect a difference. We will learn new things about the players by having someone else call plays. We will learn more about both Coach Campbell and about Bill Lazor when Zac calls the plays. We will learn more about RT.
