Dolphin "Classic" Games Part 10

The sound prob only happens when i try to reauthor some of the games. The original copies of games I have never had prob with no sound.

How recent? The latest game I've watched was the Raiders in 2001. It played great.

Thats where maybe the AC 3 soundtrack is giving you probems.Its not strictly a DVD soundtrack.mpeg2 is but as long as it works its good.
 
in some cases it is the media you are using. at one point i had switched media because the store i buy it from had run out of what i usually got, so i got a generic brand blank DVD spindle - and these new generic brands either don't play or skip/miss audio and stuff. don't know why. I went back to the FujiFilm blanks i was using before and everything is back to kosher. :)

I never have a problem with AC3 on my standalone DVD. I actually (based on videohelp.com guides) thought it was pretty universal. My player is about 3-4 years old now (JVC), mid-range priced. But then again, it is amazing the difference in even the new machines today. Some play all formats (even divx :drool: ) while others will only play +r (my bro-in-law's). And of course there are all ranges in-between.

I have one of those DVD players that reads just about anything.I can burn 6-700 divx video files one DVD-RW watch them on a big screen and then erase them if I want.Or I can put 6 of last years game on one DVD .Cool.

I know what you mean but thats not the case.I usually burn the torrents on a DVD-RW as data as well as video on a reg.DVD.TheY both have the same audio problem.

ac3 should play in every standalone player. It's actually the standard, essentially. Sometimes using a compression tool like DVDshrink, etc. will mess them up. It's usually other factors that keep them from playing...ie bitrate, frequency, etc.

I know I've had problems in the past going from program to program because some wouldn't recognize certain files, but you usually can't go wrong ripping the audio into a wav, then when burning your new disc "replacing" your old audio with the new wav. It will be a "pcm" and unless you ripped to an odd format will sync up fine with your video...

Since I'm normally doing video corrections as well, I do the following with most game files:

1. rip audio out to wav. If you need to make audio corrections, use the wav now but keep it the same length, etc to avoid later synching problems with the video. (Unless you plan to fix the audio after you've done step 3)
2. using tmpgnc 3.0xpress I convert the video to mpeg2 and "re-attach" the new audio (3.0 xpress can't recognize ac3 anyway) and author a new file with both video+audio. 3.0xpress is very nifty at make color corrections, edits, etc as well.
3. virtally every authoring program "prefers" mpeg2 when making dvd files, so I create a full size "dvd", but usually need to shrink it back down to 4.7gb after that.
4. author my new "shrinked" dvd with chapters, menus, etc...

OK .Thanks.I will try that with the 73 Steelers game.But first I would like to hear some input from those who have the game.Did you have any trouble with the sound ? It may be just my problem.
