Good point where Henne need to improve and could have won the Tampa game..

This is what happens when you get guys who never played the game professionally trying to make sense of what a QB "sees".

There are few men who can truly understand all the dynamics of being a pivot in the pocket.

I don't think Armando is qualified.

But he certainly did his job in getting us to read his article.

I pointed out this exact thing after the game. I know Henne had nice numbers but the numbers on the scoreboard are more important. Henne is flat out a terrible red zone QB, and I'm not basing this off of this one play, I'm basing it off last year when he just absolutely could not score there. He doesn't see the field well enough to succeed there, and the guy who posted this article is right.

Henne could complete 80 percent of his passes, but if mostly gets 3 instead of 7 out of his good drives, we're gonna find ourselves too often on the short end. Ohh, and for the guys saying the pictures are wrong, on the Bess route it was plainly obvious on TV that nobody could have gotten between him and the ball. A defender can't close 5 yards in the time it takes Henne to get that ball to him.

This is almost laughable. Henne did great in that game, and let's just hope it translates when it counts. Football is a real time thing too, not a guy like mando freeze framing pics and thinking a guy is wide open cause he might be for a split second to the untrained eye. Also have to take in to account what's happening with the D in the rest of the picture. You can create just about any scenario you want doing that. Amateur job here...not giving it much of a 2nd thought. Sure Henne still has to keep improving, but this write up is a reach.

The bottom line is that Henne was notmlooking down the field at his receivers. It is a valid criticism. It is silly for you to call it laughable.

Oh lord..... again...
And I said almost laughable to be clear. I stand by what I said.

Another thing here is that how in the hell can you infer anything from an angled ( bad one at that) 2d photo?! Also there is a defender that has his arms up that may be in his LOS and we can't see from that angle. Also we all know Henne has the arm to make that throw. The logical deduction here is that he either straight out missed the read or he didn't trust what he saw. Henne has been protecting the ball more as he should. The old Henne may throw that ball and have it picked.

As his confidence and knowledge of the system improves, you will see him take more chances. I like what I see thus far and I'm rolling with that.

The criticism about missing an open Bess is a reach. The pass probably would have been tipped. The criticism about keeping his eyes downfield is valid. Henne had a very good game, but there is room for improvement.

The criticism of HENNE is half-a**ed. Look at the WRs. It looks like each has a DB trying to "look small", in order to break on the pass. And the DLman w/his hands up is somewhat of an issue. Is there a chance at a TD pass? Yes. Is there a chance for an INT, and maybe a "pick-6"? Yes again.

Now, look at what REALLY could've happened w/a veteran C. The DL w/his hands up is being handled well by INCOGNITO. Another DL is WAY behind the play/HENNE, and is being blocked. The other 2 DLmen are effectively double-teamed, and out of the play. POUNCEY seems to be looking to go over and help INCOGNITO, who NEEDS NO HELP AT ALL! If POUNCEY was a veteran--say, a DWIGHT STEPHENSON--he'd have taken ONE look, then yelled at HENNE to "follow me", and given HENNE a royal escort into the Endzone, killing anyone who tried to stop it. THAT is what was wide open, and what was missed...by EVERYONE.

Still pictures are great to try to prove a point but watching the game real time tells the story. Not impressed with this write up at all. I saw this play and it was replayed too and by the time Bess had made his break Henne was on the move.

That simply isnt true. I saw this play as well and Bess was in fact open. I was screaming at the TV Bess is open, even if only for a second. Had Henne seen him and thrown the ball it certainly would have been a TD. Some may try to argue Hartline was also open in the corner of the endzone but he was not. Henne is improving which is great. I hope he continues to improve, however this was a TD that was left on the field.

yeah he missed open hartline.

you know how that doesnt matter?

cus hartline goes to chad and says he had the corner endzone and next time he hits him.

kinda like in the atlanta game.

Hartline wasnt open at the same time Bess was. The only reason it LOOKS like Hartline was open is because as soon as Chad took off running, the DB covering Hartline came up, thus giving the impression that Hartline was open. Bess was the open receiver. Hopefully Henne doesnt miss plays like this in the regular season. I am sure the coaches have already shown him the tape and thus he will correct the mistake.

Not worried they were open, thats good, next time I expect a different result. I've seen him make that play before.. To either bess (against GB) or Hartline (crowders INT NE game)

I saw the game, too. You're correct about BESS being the only open WR. But as to BESS, (1) it's close i/m/o; and (2) do you think that BESS's own momentum would've carried him OUT of the endzone by the time the pass arrived?

Yes, it was close, and I thought about that as well and knowing Bess, I would think that he would have adjusted quickly and stopped his momentum befre going out of the endzone... I think...

In any event, even if Bess caught it at the one, it would have still been closer than from the two or three yard line Henne was tackled at.

Henne should have made that play. He shouldn't get a free pass just because he had a 140 QB rating. Sure, he made some good plays vs Tampa, but it was a tie score at halftime and he does still have a long way to go, especially in the red zone.

Ok, best case scenario....perfect on time throw for a TD. Worst case scenario and more probable, the lineman gets his hands up and knocks it in the air and it gets picked or causes Henne to hesitate just a bit for the window to clear and it is a pick 6 the other way. Henne made the right decision and was decisive and ran. We got points instead of a turnover. Some along with Morando are digging for crap because you hav an agenda against the starting QB and have had for a while. The guy was 10-13 with a TD and all 3 incompletes were catchable. Then you bring up this silly shiz?....Seriously?!
