How should Miami realistically approach free agency?

This is why it's important to draft well and efficiently, so you're not trying to cram 10 pounds of sh*t into a 5 pound bag in one off-season of free agency.

The bill is coming due for all these mediocre/atrocious drafts since 2022.

We just have a different view of bad. If you are what your record says, 74-73 is average.

But he hasn't won a playoff game in nine years either, so if you're saying he should be replaced that's a conversation for sure. I don't necessarily disagree there. Although, personally I think it's more on McDaniel than Grier.
Bro, if I have to explain it to you now... there's no point. You'll never get it.

Trade whoever they can to get some much needed draft capital, and then fix the o-line

We're not going to be a playoff team next year so just sign low priced bodies so as not to damage our cap even further, and just pray we have a successful draft, which we REALLY need.

Approaching free agency is adding one vet safety one vet guard, and if there’s more money one vet tight end

Not realistic, Largo.

Might be smart, but the decisions that have already been made make it unrealistic.

Are you saying Dolphins are in Lalaland of Stephen Ross and Chris Grier where nothing is realistic? I can agree with that.

Watch me first day as GM fire Tua and Armstead and the rest of the failed contracts and supporters of failures in the building. See how realistic it is.

We're obviously not going to play at the top of the FA market. There will still be enough cap space created to grab some good moneyball players. Like we did last year with Jonnu, Brooks and Brewer.

OG will be the best place to target in FA. Whether that's a progressive type co ing off their rookie deal or a proven veteran who no longer commands top dollar.

IDL might be best to look to the draft. Safety maybe a bit of both.

Are we happy with Paul & AJ at OT with Armstead after a restructure as swing T, Brewer at C had a decent and competent 1st season then we'll need 2 dominant guards be it through a trade, draft or free agency. Eichenberg can be released for me we need a new culture but I'm not saying he is the problem with how soft we are but we need better standard of play
Standard of play improvement ? You havent watched Mcd reward Julian Hill after making what seems like 6-8 crucial mistakes a game

A hard reset would have been my preference as well, as I don't believe we will field a team strong enough to seriously compete for a deep playoff run or Championship next season ...... And I also do not believe the current path is sustainable 2-3-4 years down the road. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

What makes it unrealistic, at least at this point, is if that were the plan, different decisions and statements would have already been made.

So, what is realistic as far as Free Agency, given the reality of the circumstances as we know them to be?

If you take the position that nothing can be done to "fix" the situation, therefore it doesn't matter, that may be valid.
