Jonnu Smith not at mandatory minicamp

Obviously Ramsey is not there and is excused. Smith is not and subject to a $100,000 fine if he misses the 3 days. I say fine his ass. It is time this team stopped being soft with players and hold them accountable.

Play until your contract ends.

The ideal contract would be one where each catch is worth N, each touchdown M, each first down J, etc. But there isn't a single player that would ever do that.

I don't know, he is underpaid and this might be his last chance to make some huge money, so I kind of get it

I also think he should honor his contract though, hopefully it lands somewhere down the middle
I'm not going to lump in J. Smith with Ramsey and other divas. Smith doesn't get paid much and produced way more than he was paid. He's a high character guy and a great teammate. I don't blame him for wanting a new contract. It is a brutal game and all glory is fleeting.

I'm not too bothered by this. From the way McDaniel answered the question during his presser, I took it to mean either a deal or a trade is close. In either case, you'd forfeit the 100k until pen hits paper.

Not worth it he was nothing before tua and will be nothing after
He was on a steady ascension early on, enough so that the Pats threw a bunch of money at him. Not his fault they had crap QB play, but those two years in NE really put a crimp on his career stats ( 55 rec. 540 yds, 2 tds total for two years.) I find it hilarious NE paid him $27 million over those two years by the way, Fluck the Pats. He rebounded nicely with the Falcons. Truth be told, Rosenhaus negotiated a bad deal for Jonnu last year and now he's trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube and in the process he's painting the Phins as the bad guy.

Sieler still showing up despite wanting and deserving a new contract. Pay the man please, dudes a monster on the field and sets a great example like showing up even when not completely happy.
