The case for corey simon

I know our QB situation is not that great, fair at best, but and a big but, if we can be creative cap wise and sign simon long term, our defense could be playoff caliber this year, at least they would be able to keep us in games all season and make this a interesting year still after thanksgiving, just a thought for a fan that does not want to play meaningless games in december
 
The Bills reportedly had been interested a while ago, but the teams couldn't work out a trade deal. The Same with Baltimore, as Simons wanted to go there also, so i'd imagine it would be one of those teams. Ravens or Bills.
 
Well it's a good thing Larry you're not in front of me cause I'd slap the taste out your mouth.
 
They already have a great defense, adding a very good system DT isn't going to help their Super Bowl aspirations, i think if Boller can play QB well and their WR's can pan out good then they certainly should be in the Super Bowl, but i have a feeling Boller will croak.

I think they are already gonna win the SB.If they get him its a lock.Thats there only glaring weakness on a SUPER GREAT DEFENSE.
 
I think we have spent all we can spend on defense this year.

Agreed. And Simon is much better than a good system DT. He's an all-pro. And that defense won't let Boller screw it up.
 
Go ahead, put Corey Simon on a team like Green Bay....He'll fold. He's an all-pro because of the great system Jim Johnson has, he shows nothing special that shows he's one of the top DT's in the league. If he leaves and takes the money to go play with some lousy team like the Giants, he'll do as well as the rest of the Eagles who left Johnson's system. Like:

Jeremiah Trotter: Redskins
Hugh Douglas: Jaguars
Carlos Emmons: Giants
Bobby Taylor: Seahawks
Troy Vincent: Bills (Still sort of unproven though)

And the list goes on......

Chester's salary would not even be 1/4 of what Corey Simon would ask. Chester is playing for the veteran's minimum now.
