Omar Jacobs on Right Now!

One other thing I've noticed with Jacobs is that he looks over to the sidelines after the defense is set to get the plays. This makes me question his ability to read the defense for himself and make the play call himself.

He and Alex Smith played in the same style of offense. The difference I see right now is that Alex would make his own calls.

Bowling Green has two receivers that could be late round picks: Sanders & Sharon.

Do you think he wants him as a CB or a FS?

A cornerback all the way. Nick wants his corners to be good against the run as well as be able to defend the ball down the field.

And what is up with Wisconsin's hemlets?? It looks like somebody stole the team's supply last night and this is the contingency plan.
VERY funny.... i was wondering the same thing. Its like the equipment manager noticed the wrong shipment of helmets came in, and all he had was electrical tape. :D

on Jacobs - watching him perform its odd.... he doesn't seem as good as his stats suggest. the short pull-back and quick release seems rushed and not well thought-out.

he seems to have really good receivers - almost all of them have to jump up for the ball - not too many of the passes have touch on them, most are just thrown up and awaiting a play by his receivers.

i don't understand why he cannot work out of something other than shotgun? he looks decent, but he is starting to look like a one-trick pony. only good in a very specific system.

and like muck, i must admit that i am no professional and this is only based on this game. I am impressed with the stats, but not how they got there. He seems to get the job done, although the whole thing looks ugly while he's doing it.

and he should cut his hair. the hair coming out of the helmet - he looks like Predator :)

You guys need to watch UAB and Tennessee to get a good look at Darrell Hackney. I'm more impressed with Hackney right now than Jacobs.

I've got Tennessee/UAB on Fox, Ohio State and Miami of Ohio on ABC, Wisconsin/Bowling Green on ESPN, and Illinois/Rutgers on ESPN2.

ah... different locales, so you get different broadcasts on the local channels.

you know texas football.... so of course texas christian will trump Tennessee/UAB.

doing a lot of short passing. not a big fan of that.
and it looks like we won't see much of his deep passing because that damn DB for Wisconsin keeps interefering with the WRs
