Omar laying out the FACTS

Reading people claiming Herbert isnt anything more than a glorified Matthew Stafford is funny.

Dont know how that even came up… but why do we knock a QB who we missed/passed on… its ok to compliment him, it doesnt take anything away from the player we chose at 5. We know what to expect from selection no.5.

With that said, Omar Kelly isnt the most credible source. He is acting like he knows all the facts with the “not on my watch”

LOL

The real question is how does Flores not get along with Tua, a devout kid of faith who had a strict upbringing, strict father and was beloved by one of the toughest coaches in the business in Saban. A kid who respect his peers through and through.

Flores preaches family, culture and the importance of off field growth as well as on field. Where did this relationship go wrong? How could it go wrong. There values could not be more simpatico.

Clearly either Tua or Flores are not the persons they portray themselves to be in the public eye.
I think it all comes down to Flores being resentful that he had to play him

I do agree that if Flores wanted Herbert and didn't want Tua, Tua would not have been the pick. Grier has repeatedly said he would not pick a player his coach didn't want and Ross has repeatedly shown himself to be an owner that does not interfere. But I don't buy that the whole organization wanting Watson. I'm sure that Grier did his due diligence on Watson, but I have heard from sources I trust that Grier is a big Tua backer. I also suspect that Ross would be very leery of a guy with so many allegations against him after having lived through Incognito and Foerster.

There are also too many reports of Flores' rift with Tua and Flores pushing the Watson thing to ignore. My guess is that Flores soured on Tua (especially after Tua told people he could play but Flores held him out anyways). I suspect Flo was pushing the Watson thing, but Ross and Grier didn't buy in. They listened to appease Flo and not burn bridges, but it wasn't a serious consideration. Once Flo realized that the rift widened. Flo wasn't talking to Tua or Grier. Flo wanted the power to make the call. Ross wouldn't give it to him. Ross tried to smooth things out but realized Flo was going to be stubborn about it so it forced Ross' hand.

Wanting Watson doesn't have to be a knock on Tua. He could like Tua a lotbut like Watson a lot more for example.

Here are the Facts we've all been waiting for.. Per Omar Kelly

If Omar writes this up as a real news story, I might believe it. Otherwise, will accept his Twitter fodder as the gossip it is at this point.

If it’s true, then cite sources, and use quotes. Otherwise, too much left to Omar and his interpretation of events. That I do not need or want.

I believe Ross when he says he will let the next HC decide if he wants to go with Tua at QB or bring in his own QB. In fact I will be surprised if a new HC would take the job if he was told he would have no say over who the QB will be while he is the HC.

I think they will tell him they would like to see how Tua plays next year and if the HC doesn’t believe Tua is the answer over the long term, they will let him decide what he wants to do at the QB position going forward.
Facts usually have quote “ “ marks around them. Facts usually cite to sources. Without quotes and cites, these are not facts. This is an interpretation of what he heard.

If Flores was that adamant about Watson, what was he going to do with him if Watson was traded to Miami? I don’t think there was a chance of Watson playing this year, and Flores needed wins now as evident of his eventual firing. However it doesn’t seem like he was fired on W-L alone.

What’s funny is that Flores came out with the worst gameplan of the season vs Tennessee and failed miserably. Had he won that game he would have made the playoffs and probably still have a job lol

Your right and I dont bad mouth Herbert, but bc we passed on him im inclined to not be his biggest fan. Hes damn good though I have no problem acknowledging that.

Facts about Tua playing last year are all out there in the news articles from last year to read.
Flores was quoted the week before Tua suddenly was named the starter that he would not start Tua if Tua was his son because of Tuas injury.
Chan Gaily the offensive coordinator said he was caught by surprise that week Tua was going to start.
Fitz implied he was under he was the starter that week until he read about it in the news media.
Tua was introduced as the starting QB to our news media that week by Chris Grier.
Talk about undermining a organization from within.
And if that's not enough for you to believe it's our front office staff that's still here is the problem take the truth from Tua.
That truth was Tua stating he was hamstrung in the offense last year because he did not know the playbook. Why would not know the playbook unless he was convinced he was not ready to start.
Ugly stuff.
Florres was hired to fail with a tank for Tua team from a Billicheat coaching tree that has never really succeeding in producing a winning coach. Flores surprised Grier and company with his winning ways and when Flores attempted to leverage his sucess to actually improve the Dolphins he was fired. Works out best for Flores though because he is no longer a rookie head coach who has to take the scraps like what the Dolphins offered him to take this job but now can walk in the front door of a franchise that wants to win and allow him to build a team to win with having to look over his shoulder and worry about a back biting staff.

Omar has a history of being "used" by the organization at certain times. It make him feel plugged in and also important. If it were Hyde writing this, it might have more credibility.

Give it time, the dust will settle and the truth will emerge. Likely with fault on both sides.
