Anybody know anything about this player we contacted?

While Uani Unga will hit NY (Jets) first, he's also been contacted by the Miami Dolphins & Seattle Seahawks about workouts. #NFL #BYUSN #BYU

What's the compensation on the mallet trade?

Not announced yet but probably not much.

If I was this FO I'd have been more on the lookout for guys who can play safety in a pinch. With Jones out we're hanging on by Louis Delmas' dodgy knees. If we have to trot Walt Aikens out there it ain't gonna be pretty.

That position really scares me. Both Delmas and Wilson are ball hawks (good) that take chances and may give up big plays (not so good)

McFadden doesn't have any long speed so he better be quick...kind of maxed out guy also...but will davis doesn't have any long speed either so there's that...he's just got elite ball skills and awareness

As for aikens I'm right there with you we don't want to play that...we don't want to play this seamster kid either

That's kind of what I mean. I liked McFadden a lot better than Davis because despite the lack of true long speed he wasn't really ever beaten deep in college. Davis was beaten deep all the time. Quinton Patton abused the **** out of him. McFadden struck me as more like Johnthan Banks, who despite the lack of long speed has turned into a nice corner for Tampa because of his smarts and quickness.

Why did the #Texans have to trade for Ryan Mallett instead of claim him? The #Cowboys were in talks with #Patriots, too.

Didn't Tampa play a cover 2 when hickey was there? for that scheme seamster makes more sense to me...again unless it's a safety switch...for all I know they may just want him for a couple weeks of specials play

Confirmed the #texans have traded for Ryan Mallett. They get a 6th round pick

It's always scary when you have to hope mediocrities don't get hurt because things could actually get much worse.

It's especially bad since this is a passing league that's just gone through a preseason whose main theme has been that wide receivers have to be treated like the Mona Lisa.

Banks is in Tampa but I get what you are saying...again though cover 2 or press man corner there...I'm pretty sure that's what they ran when hickey was there also...I hope he can scheme differentiate when it comes to targets

Love the Streeter addition. He is exactly the type of WR you want to attempt to develop on the practice squad. He may not turn into anything but it is the right idea. Him and hopefully Hazel on the practice squad truly gives the Dolphins some nice depth at WR for years to come.

I agree, but truth is, this is a league where you pretty much have to take chances on defense if you ever want your defense to win games for you.

Id imagine compensation is extremely low for texans to take him this close to week 1.

Mallets worth a 6th round pick for Houston as a one year flier...if it doesn't work out you are all in on a qb in 2015

I don't see Ryan Mallet succeeding as a major NFL QB . . . but if their offensive line gives him good protection he's going to make some elite throws and look at times real impressive. I just think there are going to be way too many statue moments for this dude.

That's what I meant. I always confuse those two teams because their uniforms looks so damn similar.

Bellichek is so mad.. Remember at the beginning of the pre season the patriots had Robert kraft use his media power to have every NFL sports guy talk up mallet like he was Tom Brady?

This is bittersweet...
