Well so much for the importance of that 6th WR (other thread) . . . made very little sense to keep him around being a vested veteran. Don Jones was honestly my 53rd guy . . . I figured he was gone.

Surprising about Williams, but better him than Matthews. Don Jones getting released makes some sense. He's a heck of a special teams gunner but -- like Marlon Moore before him -- was never going to be more than that.

Looks like they picked up Seamster to play safety thats why they dumped Jones.

Love the Streeter addition. He is exactly the type of WR you want to attempt to develop on the practice squad. He may not turn into anything but it is the right idea. Him and hopefully Hazel on the practice squad truly gives the Dolphins some nice depth at WR for years to come.

Completely agree. Love the pickup. Physical superfreak. He came up during the Shannon, Jacory years which was essentially a developmental black hole. It will be interesting to see how he develops in a better situation.

So the Dolphins are presently carrying 5 receivers on the 53 man roster. Tommy Streeter on the PS, and likely Matt Hazel.

#Dolphins GM Dennis Hickey said they feel great about C Mike Pouney's rehab and that factored into taking him off the PUP.

Surprised by Williams being cut. Not remotely surprised by Jones. Happy to see us get in secondary help, just not convinced by the targets we picked.
