Rishard Matthews trade speculation.

I think we have to bring Thigpen into this discussion as well. I recall reading that Lazor had some plans for him at WR a while back. Not sure if that has changed. Regardless, Landry does not look very good as a returner. Thigpen was below average last year, with horrible blocking but, VG in 2012. This has to enter into the roster decisions.

Sorry to all the thigpen fans out there but I want to see him gone! With the talent we have a the receiver position and with the rb Damien Williams proving he deserves a spot, I think thigpen is expendable regardless of his mediocre kickoff returns.

True. Matthews was useless in the last two games when we were missing Hartline and Gibson. The only way he gets open is when defense keys on actual play makers.

Gibson went out in week #8, and Matthews best games were in the second half. Hartline did not go out until the final game, He played 14 snaps, catching 2 of 5 for 38 yards. Matthews caught 4 of 7 for 58 yards in that game. Why do you bother posting things you do not know?

And I sincerely hope this is speculation because I love Matthews and the physicality he brings on the field! Move Gibson to the outside and have Landry in the slot with Matthews on 4 Wr sets.. I'm starting to believe Hartline may be overrated while I still believe many people on here underestimate Gibson and Matthews!

IMO until Landry surpasses him (which I have every confidence he will), Gibson is the most valuable receiver on the roster. He proved that before going down in the 6th game through the chemistry with Tannehill. And that's coming off the '12 season for the sub .500 Rams when he led the league in 3rd down and TD reception conversion percentages. This guy is clutch; no ****ing way his name should be bandied about in trade rumors

outside of special teams Thigpen has no value

Gator Hoskins

NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WITH Gators first preseason back he went up to the highest point and caught that pass and fault against 2-3 players for the TD we need to keep Gator and as for Matthews he needs to stay , as announcers and comentators have said alot of WRs dont get enough balls thrown there way to prove to be better players than they are , i would bet any amount that if Matthews went to New England he would become an Elete WR , IMHO i would trade Hartline before i would Matthews , it will be a BIG Mistake to trade Matthews .he is an up and coming star.

Trading Rishard Matthews to keep Damian Williams would be just

Not to mention, Rishard Matthews is not best in the slot. It's actually where he's worst. That's just where the Dolphins play him because of their weird love affair with His Catness, Brian Hartline.

Why do you bother looking up stats to try to support an inconsistent receiver. I don't think Matthews gets cut but I'd prefer to see more of Gibson Hartline and Landry. If Damien Williams out performs him tonight, then Mathews is on the bubble.

Having a surplus of good WRs is a good problem to have and a totally different experience. We have had far too many years when we were grossly deficient. My natural inclination is not to trade anyone. We may need players down the stretch.
However, with the Josh Gordon suspension, Rishard Matthews has the potential to be the best WR on the Cleveland Browns team. I don't want to lose him but I would be asking for at least a 3rd round Draft pick, if they get really desperate. Many would say that he's not worth it, but a Browns team with really terrible WRs led by an aging Miles Austin, may make them very desperate.

It doesn't make any sense at this point to trade away a strength component of the team. We don't need cap room, and you aren't going to improve a weak area

If they trade Matthews, its only because they are in full mode of getting rid of Irelands picks.

I think it would be foolish to trade him now. First off, he doesnt offer much value other than a guy at another position who is likely green.

Remember the Anthony Carter trade Dolphins...don't make the same mistake.... (for you younger fans, look it up, went down in the 80's)

hartline isnt overrated because he is not a highly rated guy in the first place. What he is though is overrated in Ryan Tannehills head.

Ehh giving Mathews heat for week 16 when no one made any plays on offense period seems off base...week 17 once hartline got hurt we did go away from Mathews who was the replacement minus the shallow crosser drop

And the offense is new this year and from what I see looks more Mathews friendly anyways...more predetermined throws and a little less read db leverage and coverage the latter of which I don't think he showed all that well at last year but it was also only his 2nd year

As bad as Clevleand's wr's are Im not sure they are desperate for a wr like Matthews who would not be the best wr on any team in the NFL not even Cleveland.
No team is trading a 3rd for Matthews. Maybe a late pick but even then that's a stretch. They knew most of preseason that they would lose Gordan for a substantial amount of time, not sure why they would be more desperate now.
I expect them to look hard at teams cuts for wr. They have Austin, Hawkins, Benjaminand Nate Burlson.
Not a stellar lineup in any way.
