Everyone is making some good valid points for both sides of the coin. I'm really still up in the air on this one. Whatever they decide, I still support them so we'll see...

Next year is the year to get him if you were to ever do that. We still need to build out our front-seven and offensive line in order to get the most out of a franchise QB.

I'd rather not spend 4 1sts and pay him 30 a year. Talk about getting out of cap hell? That's not the way. Start with a young QB aand develop him

It’s not gonna happen but I believe Wilson would embrace the challenge, it’s part of what makes him great.

if dolphins don't find qb there going be right back at 6,7,8 win again. the dolphins main problem is qb. talent level will get us to 6-8 win. there is know way around it.. all these new coach can talk X/O. all they want. if they don't find qb. dolphins will nt win in nfl or afc. the last 6 coach dolphins have had. they all had same problem QB.it not that hard find wr,te,ol,dl, lb,cb,ss.. there all over draft. the only was flores win is find play makers qb.

I would prefer to draft the franchise quarterback as opposed to giving up a ton of things to get him.

This is not a challenge, its a losing situation for an elite QB over 30 who's trying to win championships... I dont know Wilson but if I were him, Miami along with a couple other places I would try to avoid at all costs...

I don’t inderstand that.. I think starting from scratch and being the leader franchise QB would be a challenge that more than one man would want to accept, jmo.

If drafting the next russel Wilson were easy, everyone would do it.

That said, I think everyone in the world would prefer to draft an elite QB.

I would think that this regime specifically, watching their whole coaching lives, one of the best QBs ever, with hi end leadership skills, they are hungry to land one, find one, whatever it takes to get one.

Get him. I dont trust this franchise to draft a good QB anyway. We will win some meaningless games next year and wont have the top pick.

This thread is so crazy and reflects such a fan set of "anyone can be a GM" biases.

*If* Russell Wilson were to hit the market, it would be because the team that knows him the best -- his strengths and weaknesses, how much and well he does film, his leadership in the locker room, etc. -- would *NOT* be willing to meet his salary demands. Yet, here we have a ton of posters willing to ignore that primary data and suggesting that not only should we meet those demands, but we should pay even more than Willson wants and also trade tons of draft capital.

He's 30, so even if he's the super star elite QB that the "go get him crowd" believes he is, we would likely get less than 10 years with him with 2 to 4 of them wasted while we try to build a team around him (assuming we suddenly learn how to draft and play FA with a minimal amount of contract sanity). I don't care how good he is, we have an example of thinking a super star QB can do it all with Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers -- even the very best needed a team around him and as good as Willson is, he's not as good as Rodgers.

So, now we're down to no first round picks for a couple of years, and aging QB who's major strength is extending plays by running around which exposes him to injury risk, and the most expensive QB in the game (his demands) for what? A playoff win or two? While it's better than what we've had for a while, it's also the consolation prize.

I just don't understand the "go get him" crowd here at all.

I'm all ears if someone can tells me how this team, as currently constructed, trades multiple first round picks for a 30 year old quarterback who you will then proceed to pay $30 million a year and build a competitive team around him by the time the contract expires.
