Everyone is making some good valid points for both sides of the coin. I'm really still up in the air on this one. Whatever they decide, I still support them so we'll see...
It’s not gonna happen but I believe Wilson would embrace the challenge, it’s part of what makes him great. This is just a bad situation to trade so much assets for an elite QB... There's litterally no talent left on the Fins... Sure Wilson might be good for 4-5 wins by himself, but add 4-5 wins on a 3-4 wins team and you're still not contending, and devoid of any resources to actually improve the team outside of the QB...
This is by no means a shot at Wilsons ability, its just that the Fins are in such a particular situation that giving up a ton of assets + a very big salary cap allocation to any QB would most probably result in a waste of time...
And lets not even discuss how Russel Wilson would feel and how motivated he would be to end up here... Im pretty certain his first thought would be: "FML!"
This is not a challenge, its a losing situation for an elite QB over 30 who's trying to win championships... I dont know Wilson but if I were him, Miami along with a couple other places I would try to avoid at all costs...It’s not gonna happen but I believe Wilson would embrace the challenge, it’s part of what makes him great.
I don’t inderstand that.. I think starting from scratch and being the leader franchise QB would be a challenge that more than one man would want to accept, jmo. This is not a challenge, its a losing situation for an elite QB over 30 who's trying to win championships... I would prefer to draft the franchise quarterback as opposed to giving up a ton of things to get him.
