The patriots go to the superbowl, a franchise that has done things right, unlike us..

C-Wagons is right....but I think that this actually helps the phins. If you play against a great coach twice a year you either raise your level of play...or start flipping burgers as the franchise gets a better coach. Either way it makes the phins a better team...

DB

Wanny has been playing against a good coach for all his Career in Miami, and our level of play has gotten worst every year and out. I'n this franchise that is irrelevant.

well the major difference is that the pats have an OL...

The Pats are an unspectacular team .......

Well, I don't know about any other fans here, but I'll take unspectacular and two SB trips in the last two years ANY day over what we've had the last 8 years!

As to their OL? Their good pass blockers, average run blockers.

Granted our OL is one of the worst in the league, but the major difference with the Pats is their defensive schemes. Their guys are smarter, their DB's and LB's hit harder as a group, and their coaches are light years ahead of ours as far as schemes.

I got it....why don't you AND Junior go back to San Diego!!

At least that way you'll have a team that TOTALLY lives up to your expectations.

Fair-weather there year-round too.............

Why is it criticizing the MANAGEMENT seems to be equated with being against the TEAM?

I'm a huge fan will always root for them. I love their players. I supported Dave in the past and I like Rick Spielman, though I'm reserving judgment.

But, I totally agree that Huizenga is not a great owner (hasn't proven it to date, anyway), and I don't buy into all the propaganda coming out of the Davie training facility.

I don't know about Junior or others, but I know that I am objective enough of an observer to have great respect for the Patriots. If that troubles people, they have the problem. Is there any doubt the 49ers had the best organization of the 1980's? None. Though I rooted for Miami the entire time.

You have to respect the reality that the Patriots are getting the job done. Some of the comments sound as if the Patriots are a lousy organization, b/c they are NOT the Dolphins. If you're talking "reality" - that's delusional.

That's not the case at all. You should read some more of my posts before making a summary judgment. JS55 as well as others keep saying, "nothing has changed" when in fact, things HAVE changed. Are the changes the right combo for winning the SB next year? WHO KNOWS. Nobody here certainly knows, if that were the case we'd be making $$$ in the NFL.

I have respect for the Pats franchise too, but are you trying to say that Mr. Kraft is a better owner than Wayne H? If you're basing that on SB appearances, that's a little naive (sp). How many years did he own the team before they got there? I don't know, but I can bet he didn't just buy the team 3 years ago. Besides...the owner's not getting it done.....the coaches and players are. Our coaches/players aren't, and every indication is that they are addressing this up front this off-season. How can ANYBODY say nothing has changed?

The 49ers franchise of the 80s......hmmmm.....if they were so good, why did their team fall out and away from the SBs they were getting....with the same franchise? Because there's no 100% formula for franchises.

All that being said....its not the substance of what JS55 keeps spouting out that offends other Dolphin fans....its the way he keeps up the doom and gloom and refuses to see any positives, which there are several out there. If I wanted to see sarcastic-negative hate about the Dolphins I'd go to the damn Jills or Jets boards.

Thanks for your note and clarifications. I wasn't just jumping on you, but the tenor of criticisms. I don't know what JS55 has said in the past - but I thought this post was a good one.

Is Kraft a better owner b/c he's been to 3 SB's and Wayne's been to None? YES! You are saying that's naive? That's ridiculous. The measuring stick, like it or not, in the NFL is winning. Yes, there are behavior issues, but the Pats don't have that problem any more than Miami does. So, all things considered, Kraft has gotten the job done as an owner and Huizenga hasn't. Period. To argue against that is to try to stop the waves from hitting Miami beach!

Kraft took over the Pats in 1994. In 10 seasons as owner, the Pats have played in 3 SB's. I'll take that in 10 seasons over 10 straight years of 9-7, 10-6 records with not even a WHIFF of a chance at a SB! Any day. And, I'll win bragging rights every time.

Simple question on this: which fans are happier about their team today - the Patriots or the Dolphins?

"The 49ers franchise of the 80s......hmmmm.....if they were so good, why did their team fall out and away from the SBs they were getting....with the same franchise?"

I have no idea what you are saying in this comment, honestly. What I am saying is the 49ers won 4, that's F-O-U-R SUPER BOWLS between 1981 and 1990! And, the team consistently competed at the top - that was with three other dominant NFC franchises (Redskins, Giants & Bears). Into the 90's they competed well with the Cowboys, Redskins and Giants and they were the FIRST TEAM IN HISTORY (!) to win 5 SB's! (not shouting, just being emphatic). All that b/c they had a great organization and great people running the team (Bill Walsh as the centerpiece). At some point, the management can't hold on forever (Walsh is just a consultant), the cap system that came in destroyed dynasties (New England is the closest thing) - and other teams catch up. Despite all that, the 49ers have still been competitive in the last several years even.

All I'm saying by that is that you have to respect what they did in terms of success. From the standpoint of success, every Dolphin fan in the world would take the 49er stretch over what we've done the last 25 years!

Btw, Huizenga took over the Dolphins the same year that Kraft took over the Patriots.

Super Bowl Teams: Kraft 3, Huizenga 0

Ya but saying the owner is responsible is silly. Its the coaches/players. When Wayne hired in JJ, most people, including the so-called "experts" thought it was a fantastic move. Why didn't that come to fruition? Was bringing a proven SB coach and staff in a stupid move on Wayne's part? Did anybody predict Bilichick would turn out to be the master coach he is?

Oh I'd DEFINITELY rather the success the Niners enjoyed or that the Pats are currently enjoying....who wouldn't? I'm just saying that nothing's ever guaranteed. 1 or 2 different players on either of those teams, or in their coaching staff, or even in their front office, and things would likely go different. Bill Walsh likely had alot to do with it yes. No doubt, I'd say. But how many Bill Walshes are out there right now?

My main point, however, is that NOBODY knows what the Dolphins, or any other team for that matter, will do next year or the year after that. The organization has made changes, like them or not, and they are changes that WILL effect the team next year, hopefully in a positive direction. I've seen nothing at this point that says these changes will go negatively. Wanny HAS to understand that this is his last year unless he produces some strong, positive post-season results. Same probably goes for the rest of the coaching staff. We're not privvy to the closed-door conversations in the organization, so anything we think they "say" is conjecture. Seems that some people think that Wayne is making moves to make the team lose. I don't see it.

Am I offending you guys? Or am I talking about the truth?
Has there being any "vast" changes to put us light years away?

Of course I am offending you guys with the simple and foremost truth in the most respectful manner. If you claim that we have
made enough chances or substancial changes for this franchise
to get us ahead of where we are then you my friend, you are
robbing yourself from a seasonal ticket every year. As a dolphins
fan, you expect that your franchise goes all out every year and
what a dissapointment that we didn't get it done this year to go
to the playoffs at least which wouldn't have satisfied me

Miami is back with a vengeance? Miami will win the superbowl? For the love of christ, they couldn't even breathe in their own division. We coudln't even compete with the patriots at best, our kicker didn't get it done in the dirt when he was given an option to kick in the dirt and he said no. Poor coaching, it sometimes felt like there wasn't anyone calling out plays. Fourth and 15, they call a running play because they expect the defense to dominate like a demon when they don't.

I'll keep complaining as long as you guys wanna prove me wrong.

Its a waste of time to try and convince you to see a little light and have a hair of faith in the moves the organization has made thus far. You'll continue to see them as transparent regardless.

You referenced many bad things that happened LAST year. Get that....LAST year. Changes have already been made and there's more on the way, NOT just in players....coaches as well.

I understand the frustration....I've been waiting since 1974 for a SB for the Dolphins and haven't given up yet. Call me stupid.

And the "simple and foremost truth" you speak of is NOT truth, as it contains no fact on next year's team. Just your opinion. As well as your opinion that MOST will disagree with that we didn't even compete with the Patriots. Did you even watch the games? You even said it yourself...the kicker blew it and the coaches didn't have the sack to make him practice in the dirt...simple as that, and I think they've all learned from it. If you're saying you'd expect the same next year, then that's your opinion and I guess to you its as RIGHT and TRUTHFUL as it can get.

Either way....we all want the same thing. Think what you want and so will I.
