Ray Rice needs to be suspended for a long time and undergo extensive psychological reprogramming and then monitoring. Spousal battery is rarely a 1 time occurence and no matter how contrite the batterer might be, he's going against his default behavior. Consequently, the danger of recidivism beyond a very egregious, public, violent act is looming and for the safety of his wife who's now enabling him in classic fashion, if the league doesn't alter his behavior, possible homicidal results down the road are on the Ravens and the league. As far as his father being there to support him, how do we know that he wasn't the one setting the misogynistic examples for Rice growing up?
