I've gone back and forth on this ever since this off season started and I knew we'd have to address the Tua contract. On the one hand, I saw the stats and thought hmm, he deserves that. I'm a Tua fan. But then I think back to the games and think Tua's not Mahomes, Allen or Lamar. Why, when it comes to making that drive against good teams, something happens. That switch doesn't turn on. I go back to the 1st game against Kansas City in Germany. We're driving down the field and then it happens, "I think it was 3rd and 10. The WR to the left seems like he was going to run a curl. But the DB read it and played the curl, the WR read the DB and took off. It seem Tua couldn't made the adjustment in his head and luckily, the DB was now trying to catch the WR and didn't see the throw Tua made, which as we know, was a half throw that didn't make it to the Receiver who was 5 yards behind the DB. Tua seems stuck on the curl and couldn't make the adjustment. I was very disappointed, because the next play was the bad snap." I saw this a lot of times, sometimes you have to go playground. I think of the time with Mahome and Kelce against Buff in the infamous 13 seconds come back game. For the game time play to go over time, Kelce ran a inside post instead of the route he was assign because he recognized the defense and what it was given. Mahome could see and made the adjustment. Or Mahome running to get them in place. Yes Tua has that ability but hasn't use it since Mike McDaniel. For Tua to get a 53-55 mil a year contract, he needs to do this, until then he's a 49-52 mil in this current environment. My real thoughts is Mahomes should be #1 salary, evey QB should be behind his yearly cap. Here's the do this:
Add this back to his game and I want have problems with his salary.
