We need someone to come in and stretch the DEF. This would open up our presumed strength, backfield passes to Brown, Mc Mike, Booker underneath, and Chambers on the out patterns.
Any suggestions, FA's or possible cap casualties forthcoming out there?
First of all, you have to bring into account that Chambers was in a run-first offense in college (similar to the run-run-pass offense Wanny had). Very often people don't want to take chances on someone who might be great, that's why we drafted him later.perezferia said:We need a deep threat and it's NOT Chambers. If Chambers' had deep threat speed he would've never lasted into the second round. He's quick, and in my opinion a natural slot receiver, but not a flyer. He's to big and lanky. Booker is a natural possesion receiver.
perezferia said:Nice numbers. Very impressive. However he doesn't play "fast" he plays quick. There's a difference. He's a natural slot receiver. His first year he played the slot and caught a bunch of TD's for us. He's got speed and he CAN use it, but he doesn't play like a speed receiver.
Maybe if you were a coach you'd understand what I'm saying.
I can appreciate your stats however and how they would confuse the issue.
If you really believe we're set with GILMORE and CAHMBERS just remember that they were both here last year and didn't make a damn bit of difference in our 4-12 season. Not on a wet field against the Bengals, or a dry field against the Ravens.
You can throw stats at me all day. I WATCH the on field speed.
NO ONE IS AFRAID OF CHRIS CHAMBERS and certainly NO ONE IS EVEN REMOTELY STARTLED BY BRIAN GILMORE.
Get over it. We need a TRUE speed guy ASAP.
Listen to perezferia, he hasn't been wrong so far.
Fins 34 said:Are those Chambers' numbers from when he was a rookie or are they recent? Hee seems to have bulked up quite abit over the past few years. This could have slowed him down a full second or two.
Thanks Romio! :up:romio said:are you crazy chambers is a speed demon! and gilmore maybe even faster, do your home work!

Chambers is big and lanky? The guy is 5'11 210 lbs. Not exactly big and lanky.

perezferia said:Now, let's get that SPEED BURNER to come in here and take the pressure off him having to suddenly play as fast as he ran at the combine a few years back.
