what if...we traded B.Hartline?

 please, he was hardly the only fanboy. The number of times the Welker "trade" came up in Bess threads similar to this one was mind-numbing.

I know he wasn't the only fan of his, there were quite a few saying he'd turn into something special with the Browns. Oops. Guess that didn't go so well since they released him just last month.

 Great, now he's better than Wallace. Should have no problem landing a 2nd now.

Faster alone may not; but faster, able to get open without double and triple moves, able to stay upright after the catch, and most important, able to find the endzone do mean "more talented."

Did I say better?

I don't know about you but I like my receivers to show just a tad bit of effort. Rather than allowing an errant or, yes occasionally underthrown ball, to be picked off with ease, I like a WR to at least pretend to make a play on it or break it up. I like my WR's to at least extend their arms just a wee bit to haul in a catch rather than simply holding their t-rex arms close to their numbers and hope the ball lands in the basket. I like my WR's to maybe make an adjustment every now and then rather than rely on perfection from the QB.

I guess we have different qualifiers for "talent" though.

Why dont we trade everybody? This seems to be a constant topic on this forum so why not trade the whole team to fans that actually like the team. Hell why not trade the whole team for unproven dtaft picks since a lot of u are so fond of draft picks.

Interesting that we some want to trade a known NFL commodity, one that has put up back to back 1000 yard season for an unknown in the second round. While Hartline's game isn't explosive he still produces on the field and has proven he can do it consistently. Some value draft picks way too high.

Draft picks are gambles....you don't know what player you are going to get when they are drafted...Hartline is a known commodity, one who can consistently produce at the NFL level. I think back to last year how many were not wanting to give up a second for B.Albert....a known NFL player who produces consistently in the NFL. You can chase that potential all you want, but don't do it at the expense of a guy who has helped this team win games. Hartline is easily worth more then a second to this team.

People love the draft and in returned have started to overvalue those picks...

And everyone else suggesting that "the unknown" is a negative...

Want to know why the Cowboys are one of two teams (along with the Steelers) already over the projected $130 million cap, and consistently dealing with cap issues? This quote from Stephen Jones says it all: “Our philosophy over time has been that what you know is better than what you don’t know.” That means the Cowboys would rather retain their more expensive veteran players who may not live up to their salary than just go with cheaper younger players. That may have been OK in previous years, but it’s burned them with the flat cap since ’11. No wonder the Cowboys haven’t finished better than .500 the past four years.

So, you are saying Hartline isn't better than Wallace, but then go on to rip Wallace's ability, which means Hartline is even worse than what you present Wallace as (which is apparently being fully responsible for the lack of connection between he and Tannehill). And you don't think we'd be lucky to get a 2nd for that?

And yes, we have different qualifiers. I'll usually place the deep threat who can stretch the field and actually score TDs over the guy that can run 10 yards and fall down.

If you guys are calling him an overrated slow overpaid WR , what makes you think any other team will pick up that contract? Personally until we have a reciever that actually PLAYS as well as he does I do not want to trade him. We have a lot of "potential" and fast and quicks and should be's on this team for years, Hartline is the only one left that has proven to PLAY half way decent. I do not love Hartline he is a decent NFL player but on this team He looks like the pick of the litter.

I still can't believe we made that trade. I mean, Bess was one of the best slot receivers in the game according to many on here and trading him would be ludicrous. He was totally irreplaceable.

We would have won 10 games with a playmaker, though.

While your over exaggerating what we've said a bit, I think the one thing we can all agree on is that nobody would give up a 2nd round pick for him. I don't really see how that disproves our assertions. Quite the opposite, actually.

Halfway decent isn't good enough. Over a decade of bad football has apparently eroded some fans' expectations. Not mine. I'll take a shot with potential over mediocrity any day.

Brian Hartline is the guts of this receiving corps. We would be the biggest fools to even consider it. Now troll, go home.

That says more about our receiving corps than Hartline.

No one is trading for Hartline ... not even that drunk goon in Indy.

Tannehill and Hartline have crazy chemistry. Trading Tannehills most reliable weapon in his most crucial year?! Really?!

If Tannehill can't develop better chemistry with his other receivers, with or without Hartline, then it's time to reevaluate our situation at QB. I still believe he can though.
